The Gifted Nukers

Day 4,816, 07:09 Published in Philippines Philippines by Rym Series 2021

No ribbons, no wraps. Juan dela Cruz look at himself in front the mirror wearing the black shirt that he received from his late grandfather with the printed letters that read as "My chemical romance"... well, his grandfather was an emo, probably.

Atleast once in our lifetime, we receive a naked gift that we cherished (or we don't). Unwrapped and not even a tiny trace of decorations can be seen but a gift with a great impact. As Juan kept on staring at the mirror, some flashes of unrecognized memory appeared before him, he saw a great war.At the great war that Juan saw, one side was clearly losing and he thinks that something must be done and gave it a deeper thinking.

Keep in mind Juan is just a speculator of this war that appears before him in the form of an unknown memory, but still he's analyzing the situation.

"Alas!", Juan exclaimed as if he found the answer. "The Nukes! The ancient Bombs that could greatly turn the tides of war!", uttering the words just the way Aristotle did with "Eureka!" at his Eureka moments. However, almost instantly, Juan realized that the country has only limited people who have abundant access to these said Nukes but can only launch a few at a time. Juan didn't found the answer for that limitation problem, BUT the people of that losing country did found the answer.

With those abundant nukes but limited launch capabilities they started cloning themselves making new citizens, and gifted them the nukes and they were called 'the nukers' in which our title is derive from. These events amazed Juan and overwhelmed himself with curiosity as the new citizens arise from nowhere, he saw some clear numbers such as 9491694, 9491250, also incomplete 9556***,... and many more unclear jumbled numbers. Juan gave a thought to these numbers but he as well thinks that these numbers could be meaningless.

Just like a comet that appears from thin air, the gifted nukers produced a great impact in the battle, washing away the hint of defeat together with the trampled empire of the enemy and at last the war ends, then Juan screamed his heart out with obvious joy, "Damage dealeeeers!! Wohhhooo!!"

But the flash of these unknown memories did not end there.

At the continuation of Juan's flash of unknown memory, the scenery suddenly changed to the Great Hall of Fame and the first thing he saw was "4090's" engraved just above the entrance. He treaded through the great hall, and there he read the great names of the war, the heroes, and the brave. But as he walk through the wall where the greatest Damage Dealers were written, he didn't find anything rather than a handful of "citizens"...

...and the numbers... just right after the word "citizen"

Then the flash disappears... and slowly, as the white light fades, he saw himself again at the mirror with a tear in his eyes. "How sad could they be", he whispered.

THE END.
