[Derp4PotUS] Turn Ourselves Around

”You do the Hokey Pokey, and you turn yourself around. That’s what it’s all about.”

In case you haven’t noticed by my avatar, Bojack Horseman is one of my favorite TV Shows. In the series finale, the comic relief of the show reads a deeper meaning into the “Hokey Pokey” song that we all know. He turns this silly little dance song into a profound treatise on living. Really, the song isn’t about doing the “Hokey Pokey.”

The song is about “turning yourself around.” That’s what life is all about.

That certainly rings true for eRepublik and the people who play it. After all, people have been playing for so long. They change and grow as it goes.

There’s really no better example of this than our current president, Chickensguys. In the distant past, he was a troublemaker after power. He went along with Ajay’s clique and caused general chaos that got him shunned from the community. I even wrote an article lamenting his return at one point.

However, CG “turned it all around.” He became an admirable public servant who has done much good for our country.

Yet, however much good he has done, I believe it is time for the COUNTRY to turn itself around.

That’s what I’m all about.





So, I outlined my initial plans in my last article, but that’s not all I want to do. As a nation, we must turn around. We must right our wrongs internally, and completely shift how our government operates.

We must go from an exclusive to an inclusive form of government.
We must go from hoarding money to spending money.
We must go from secrecy to transparency.

I have new proposals to tackle each point.

1. I am going to reform the SCI through executive action. I will purge the current SCI list, and restaff it with an elected congressman from each T5 party. Only five members will be allowed, giving each representative veto power over any executive request. I will make no emergency requests to bypass that. Each party gets an equal seat and equal share at the table.

2. Last article, I said that I would increase spending on GIMP, FbP, and CRAP. I am also pledging to enact a new program to pay MU’s and fighters for the DAMAGE that they put on the aircraft battlefield, to complement Fly-By-Prio’s emphasis on HITS. My goal with these programs is to reward activity, effort, and power in the community and on the battlefield. I am open to spending 100%+ of our nation’s tax revenue, instead of hoarding more and more in the CBO. We must reinvest in the community, FULLY.

3. Once again, I am committing to the transparency of our government ledger. While CBO and SCI are disclosed on a regular basis for the public, on the forum, I will try to make them more accessible and visible in-game. Just as well, SCI is not currently the only “secretive” body where money is spent. Congress has also authorized the Executive Defense Fund; a $2M/month slush fund for the executive to spend. There is no accountability and we do not know where money is spent. I will not request the EDF money from Congress. If money is needed, I will go to SCI where money is tracked, accounted for and explicitly approved.

For too long, this country has done the Hokey Pokey. It’s danced around in circles, doing the same thing with different faces.

Now, its time to turn ourselves around.

That’s what I’m all about.
