Notafilia is a branch of collecting that deals with collecting banknotes.
Banknotes are divided into several categories according to their quality (preservation), so I will list only the most basic ones:
UNC - uncirculated is a designation for banknotes that have not been in circulation and are completely new
XF - extremely fine banknotes with minor damage
VF - very fine are banknotes on which traces of use are visible (folding ...)
VG - very good are banknotes that are damaged in several places or lack edges

The value of banknotes depends not only on the quality of the banknote but also on many other factors, so jubilee banknotes, banknotes of countries that no longer exist or banknotes of poorer quality (faster damage) have a higher price than some completely new ones from exotic countries.

There is a lot of literature and catalogs around the world, but the most relevant is the World Paper Money catalog which is made up of 2 parts with about 1300-1400 pages each and there is no banknote from all over the world that is not in that catalog. 1. The catalog contains banknotes until 1961, and the second 0d 1961. And it is updated every 2-3 years.

In consultation with the people I appreciate, I decided to write about banknotes from Croatia in the first article.
During its turbulent history, Croatia has been part of several state creations, so I will start with some of the banknotes.

AUSTRO - HUNGARY

Notafilia je grana kolekcionarstva koja se bavi sakupljanjem novčanica.
Novčanice se po kvaliteti (očuvanosti) dijele u nekoliko kategorija, pa ću navesti samo najosnovnije:
UNC – uncirculated je oznaka za novčanice koje nisu bile u opticaju i potpuno su nove
XF – extremely fine su novčanice sa neznatnim oštečenjima

Sama vrijednost novčanica ovisi osim o kvaliteti same novčanice i o dosta drugih faktora, pa tako jubilarne novčanice, novčanice zemalja koje više ne postoje ili novčanica lošije kvalitete izrade (brže se oštečuju) imaju veću cijenu nego neke potpuno nove iz egzotičnih zemalja.

Postoji brojna literatura i katalozi diljem svijeta, ali najrelevantniji je katalog World Paper Money koji je sastavljen iz 2 dijela sa po cca 1300-1400 stranica i ne postoji novčanica iz cijelog svijeta koja nije u tom katalogu. 1. Katalog sadrži novčanice do 1961. Godine, a drugi 0d 1961. I on se ažurira svake 2-3 godine.
