Dismantling Schrodinger’s Cat and East-European frustrations
Ion Vlahu
Alas, John the Wallachian is back, after a long period of introspection and disengagement from eRomania’s affairs. The political correct asshole that everyone loves is here, once again, to demystify, after the bilateral Romanian-Hungarian relationship, the nature of our most hated friend, the American.
A deeply appreciated article appeared in today’s press, belonging to one of the most appreciated figures in Romanian Politics, Sebahmah. Hell, the man is so great, that even Feherlo gave him a sincere and warm applause.
We found out from his “I wish my article was that voted” text a few things ‘bout them yanks. They brought freedom, God, money, democracy, and mousse hunting together, and mixed them around in their big melting pot that they call a country. Hell, they mixed them so well, that even Chinese people feel as Waspish as an Alabama cotton planting, horse riding, funny talking gentleman.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for clichés, and shit, loving ‘em Chuck Norris and Dolph Lundgren movies, where commies die. Die you fuckin’ commies. Sorry, got a lil carried away, let’s get back to them freedom loving hillbillies.
I know all Europeans love dishing ‘em trailer living, mayonnaise eating, cousin marrying Americans (I forgot NASCAR watching), it’s just beautiful seeing contempt, admiration and fear altogether. However, the funniest are the east-European dumbasses. They think that if they’re identity is somehow European, they can be behave as superior as the French or the British. Wrong mates, we’re a lot shittier, and I’m saying it with the greatest humbleness. You should get your east-European heads out of your asses and leave condescendence aside.
Now, let’s start talking about historical facts as they were, not as some of you think. And I am going to dismantle Sebahmah’s arguments, which in this context, is not that hard.
First of all Churchill’s plan was as reckless as Churchill himself. What he did was just wishful thinking at the time being, for the allies couldn’t pull/afford such a plan. It existed only on paper and, at the time, the USSR was an ally, you know, like us and the Americans, only the public opinion called Stalin, Uncle Joe, and no one in the US calls our president Father Christmas. Btw, you should read first some things about Churchill’s personality and decision-making abilities, you’ll have a kick.
Next, in the Roosevelt matter, I loled BIG. First of all, at the time of the Hiroshima episode, Roosevelt was dead. Truman dropped the bomb, and he dropped it after all his staff asked him for a long time to do it. But he didn’t. A story says that he took the decision when his staff stopped bringing the number of US casualties on the far eastern front. They brought the list of names instead. Did you know that Emperor Hirohito refused to stop the war and, for US to conquer the Japanese stronghold, it was estimated it will lose 1 million American soldiers. What would you do?
If you have something against the way Americans play this game, judge them: Josh Frost, PigInZen, Max Mac’farland, Gaius Julius, etc. But leave history aside, it is not it’s place here.
John is over and out. Cya in April. 🙂

"US to conquer the Japanese stronghold" why?
Practic sustii orice genocid a mai fost facut in lumea asta, fiecare a avut o motivatie mai buna sau mai proasta.
Ce vina are Stalin daca unii rusi/alte natii se impotriveau regimului sau? Locul lor e in Siberia.
So is with Hiroshima.
"They think that if they’re identity is somehow European, they can be behave as superior as the French or the British"
Define superior😃 "their" (and my) identity is surely European, albeit tainted by Balkan and Turkish habits.
Interesant ca un pasionat de istorie ca tine simte nevoie sa introduca povesti in articol.
"A story says that he took the decision when his staff stopped bringing the number of US casualties on the far eastern front. They brought the list of names instead." - parca e o scena dintr-un film american prost si care smulge o lacrima de la spectatoare
Atat timp cat isoria este scrisa intotdeauna de invingatori nu cred ca o sa gasesti adevarul chiar asa usor.

I'll answer you in english, to keep it coherent. I'm not about supporting any genocide but you have to understand it was war. For someone to win, someone has to lose. The first strike of the Pacific War was a japanese led attack on Pearl Harbour. Let's say Romania fights Hungary, and as supreme commander you have to choose 100k hungarian or 1.000k romanian casualties. What's your course of action. As you probably read my articles, you've noticed i'm not the man of conflict... but someone had to put the record straight, although i'm not aspecting ribbons for it. 🙂

There's a word for what i mean: culture ( in the anthropological sense, both symbolic and material). As far as i am concerned, the westerners produced more of that. 🙂 The phraseology i used was not meant to offend but shock (think of it as a literary license).

It's the truth. 🙂
ion vlahu nu este decat un istoric al invingatorilor. asta este asta scrie. orice ar fi el trebuie sa apere istoria scrisa de invingatori, nu conteaza daca este reala sau nu.
I'm glad I am subscribed to you paper.
But: it would be enough to drop the bomb on Mount Fuji, and the japanese would surrender next day.
for US to conquer the Japanese stronghold, it was estimated it will lose 1 million American soldiers. What would you do?
How about stopping the WAR and not killing any human being? Btw, who does this estimations anyway?
The use of the atomic bomb on defensive purposes? Oh, man! THAT's crazy!
It's like Yasir Arafat speech at the UN when it went with an olive branch in one hand and a rifle in the other.
Nice article, btw
@gyika I doubt that, if i'm not mistakeing mt Fuji, just like the emperor is sacred (the emperor is considered a god, or the heir of a god) and droping a bomb on it would would have the oposite effect.
@Ionutzeu
You're living in a besieged world where everyone lies and nothing it's how it seems... you're very own world of fake mirrors. There's a lot of aspects and problems with history writing, hell, some of them are a part of historiographical debate for decades, that's why there are schools (sometimes antagonistic) of historical analisys, but your comprehension of history is that of a frightened man. Chill, dude. No one is trying to lie to you. 🙂

We have the tendency to judge asians through our own values, which is wrong. Without something shocking, overwhelming, the japs wouldn't surrender. They're army preffered death to dishonour or disloialty, they're sense of duty exceeds our ability to comprehend. Oret explained very well. Hirohito died as emperor in 1989, and this fact, i think, validates Oret's theory.

A war can end in two ways: armistice and unconditional surrender. Hirohito made it clear that an armistice is not an option, and the japanese army would fight to defend it's homeland. Unconditional surrender meant a lot of effort from the american state and military, and a LOT of dying from both sides. The 1 million estimation was an internal working document of the american administration, not made for propaganda. War is not ok but if you fight one, you should try to win it, with minimum casualties.
For all:
It very hard for me to understand how a lot of you guys hate the americans so much. The japanese were an imperial power, they attacked Manchuria disregarding the League of Nations. They plundered China basing they're actions on some kind of lebensraum principle. Seeking to be the dominant power in the Pacific THEY ATTACKED the US. And the americans are the bastards? Weird shit...
"There's a word for what i mean: culture ( in the anthropological sense, both symbolic and material). As far as i am concerned, the westerners produced more of that. 🙂"
Well, maybe it will be better if you will learn more about what culture means and who produced more. Just to have a wider point of view 🙂

we are not wise enough to answer this question...
"There's a word for what i mean: culture ( in the anthropological sense, both symbolic and material). As far as i am concerned, the westerners produced more of that. 🙂"
Sorry my friend, I cannot agree your point of view. If you`re contracting history within the last hundreds of years maybe it might be conceded (and I mean after Renascence).
But history is a lot longer (thanks "Great Maker" as Centauri say 😁 ). Or in the ancient times the roles were switched.
If we disregard this, we`ll end like the same americans which you defend in this article, who stated when they entered Iran "we came here to civilize you" (the baby nation was civilizing the Persians 😁)))))))- please note that I`m not an antiamerican)

You have the historian syndrome. Leave the "longue duree" aside, for this was not the discussion. Of course i'm not talking about the whole history of Europe. That was not the point of the discussion, and i didn't talk about the grassroots of the western civilization. The US was shaped by western values and mentalities, that's what it's about. Ergo, we don't have the right to be condescending, because we haven't earn it. 🙂
And btw, every dominant civilization has the superiority reflex. And in the persian-american case, it's normal. For a civilization is not always judged thru it's millenial history but for his capacity to adapt and became dominant in the world. Persians stopped doing that some time ago. 🙂
Waaaw, Ion Vlahu using slang and colloquial expressions!!! Nice!
So you have read my comment to sebahmah article... I also try to dismantle his childish and a little ignorant arguments about F.D.'s second position in Top 3 WWII War Criminals.
A rattling article written with a little bit of frenzy 🙂
Ion:
Thanks for writing this.
