Attila The Hun II, in memoriam
Clorofila
GREAT NEWS: Admins gave Attila The Hun II the Fallen Citizen badge. We are grateful for that sensitive gesture, and also for Plato endorsing this article.
It is always a challenge to write an article about a person you met in a game, but you didn't meet IRL. It turns out to be a blissful tale of shared moments, conversations, music, images, articles, by ingame messages. It is, indeed, a tale of good memories but mainly a story of a life that we will miss, because Attila The Hun II (Csongor) didn't contact us anymore and he rarely left many days offline without notice.
Attila was a RL Hungarian player who played in the Netherlands. For a long time he lived in RL in Scotland where he worked like a cook, living in hotels to save money and send all the cash possible to his family in Hungary. He was 32 years old.
We, Shawtyl0w, as his Commander, and Clorofila, as his friend, will write for you, to know him a little through our eyes.
So… what compelled us to write this article? The idea of giving honor to a fallen friend. We have talked to other players in search for RL information, somebody who can reach him in RL in some way, and perhaps, gives us a proof of Attila’s decease. That search had no results, nobody knows him in RL.
Today we only have his disappearance from the game, like a dead citizen which makes us think he passed away, considering the last message he wrote to us over a month ago (he had spent 4 days in hospital and he didn't know what the future might bring, he said goodbye with good wishes).
According to Admins of eRepublik we need a proof (an obituary, for example) which says that Csongor died. We don’t have it. So, if we won’t get him the Fallen Citizen badge, we will build one for him and write this article with our best memories. We give him the wings ourselves.
Why our obstinacy? We liked him a lot, he was a person who talked his mind without hesitation, with respect, with a sense of humor. Attila used to play eRepublik to enjoy the game with the company of those who showed him affection and consideration, to bond and connect with the simplicity of daily life’s stories.
Even though he was struggling against a 4th stage lung cancer (which means general metastasis, spread in other organs), and things weren’t going very well, he opened his heart and mind to show his love for life.
When I asked him to tell me how was a good day for him he described this
He hated violence and bad attitude
He liked reading, simple meals even when he was a professional cook, metal and heavy music, watched movies and series like anybody else in this pandemia. He was positive but he had to fight depression and like he said “the demons in his head”, knowing he wouldn’t be 33.
This is the last song he shared in a bad grey day, it means "Alone against the world"
One month ago he sent this message and never logged in again.
Shawtyl0w and I wrote to different friends, personally, I contacted his previous MU Commander who tried to find out more about Csongor with no result.
We will remember him with tenderness, joy, and love. I chose this salute from many others, randomly, but with a feeling of deep hope and gratitude.
Whenever that might be, my darling, I hope to talk to you too.
Shawtyl0w’s impressions
Attila the hun II, he was my friend in this game we played together. Attila has been in the eNetherlands for a very long time however at some point in time he decided to leave to experience other e-countries. About 4 months ago he returned to the eNetherlands and he send me a message. He started working for me as an employee and we started talking again. He gave me hits that he was terminally ill and that he didn’t have much time left. One month later I heard he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and I felt obligated to at least send him a message once a week.
Attila was a very direct and open person. Someone who easily connects with people (online). When I was a young citizen I noticed him always being around, commenting on newspapers and sharing his thoughts with others. We spoke on IRC from time to time. Details from those day were vague but every now and then We had a little chat in the friends feed since Attila was active in different countries and thus communities. When he returned I was really happy and I told congress to accept his citizenship on Jun 19, 2020. Like I said from that point on until about 6 weeks ago we spoke regularly.
I’d like to quote Attila from his title “Proud eNL citizen”.
Would like to congratulate the handful of people for winning the Orion games. Great job everyone!

This is for the victory!
Every little win needs to be celebrated.
I do miss some of the people who have sold their souls for some eGOLD and migrated to other countries...
Hopefully they will return soon,to where they belong to.
I wish everyone a pleasant evening.
I believe this sums up Attila quite a bit. He was living in the moment. He considered eNL as his home he was always welcome to return to and was always friendly to others. When you open the ibb link you will find a picture of possibly his favourite place. He told me it is a 2 hour walk from his residence and he goes there to find a tranquil place to empty his mind. The joint in the picture probably helped him relax.
I want to Honour Attila The Hun II. He was my friend, He was a friend of many. He was a proud citizen of the eNetherlands and we will not forget him. I will salute and raise a toast to celebrate his life. He left us at a young age and deserved to roam the earth for much longer.
Csongor this one is for you.

I really hope he’s fine.
Maybe he’s recovering but still unable to play.
Or he’s been arrested.
Or he’s depressed and doesn’t want to pay Erepublik anymore.
There might be alternative explanations, things we couldn’t even imagine, like a love interest in Real Life, or a broken phone and no internet.
If anyone know something about this, please share it.
well said Fred!
But i have to tell you 4stage lung cancer is not to recovery, unfortunately.
Real sad story folks, but know his suffering has ended and he's in a better place now.
peace
That’s what he had?
OMG.
Yeah, sadly you’re right.
Stage 4 Lung Cancer is a horrible way to go.
I am so sorry.
No Erepublik citizen should die like that. Actually, nobody should suffer that fate period.
Thanks for sharing, Clorofila.
Shawtyl0w and I wrote this article together, thanks for commenting Fred, and for your concern
