All That Lives Must Die.

Day 4,843, 16:18 Published in USA USA by Elaine of the Snowy Forest

Hello to my friends and enemies,

I have been hearing voices of concern as of late as to the future of these e-United States that we live in, and there is a sentiment that the future of our country may be in danger. I am not familiar with the political reality we are in, but I do know about the inevitability of death. Regardless of whether or not it is tomorrow, next month, next year, even a decade from now: A time will come when our country is no more. A time will come when this very game is no more, and all that will remain is an equally ephemeral memory. I do not say this to be disparaging, no, I say it because it is something that I think we should keep in mind as we choose how to act going forward. As far as we are concerned, the only thing that matters is how we choose to hold ourselves. Each day we live shapes us as individuals, every small choice bringing us closer or farther away from the ideals we aspire to. I urge you to forget about everything except this when considering how to spend the days to come: will you be satisfied with how you spent your time?

Each day we have is precious and irreplaceable; time is a currency we are forced to spend whether or not we buy something worthwhile with it. Will we heroically band together and persevere? Or will we succumb to infighting, and let the long-burning coals of enmity light our last kindling and burn away pitifully? I can only take responsibility for my own actions, as I do not yet have the privilege and burden of leadership. But this is my message to all of you for today, and I urge you to think of it well:

Memento Mori, my comrades.
