Today, we are proudly announcing the 4th birthday of Asteria!!



On February 11, 2014, it was announced that a new star was born. Very few of those who are active now remember the full tale of how Asteria started out. In the beginning, from the Ashes of TWO and EDEN, 3 new Alliances were born. From those 3, only Asteria still stands.

Ever since its creation, there were a lot of talks that the alliance won’t last long, but we managed to prove them wrong. We had our good days and the bad days, we lost some friends along the way and found new ones. There were days that we thought that hope is almost lost, but with unity, collaboration and decent strategy, we managed to break through our problems and come out victorious. Today, after 4 years, Asteria still stands – as strong as ever!



I would like to thank our friends and allies who stood beside us in our wars, the people who work tirelessly in the alliance headquarters, those who communicate with citizens of all countries, those who send orders to military units, those who help our cause with COs, those who spend their energy bars so that we win, those willing to spend their nights and days in order to succeed and every citizen of Asteria and pro-Asteria countries.

For this special day, we have asked several people who were active in Asteria from its birth till now about the alliance.



Bogi:

Though it had a rough start, Asteria has shown itself to be very adaptable to changes, which is one of the main reasons why it has survived for so long. Other than that, we've never gotten involved in internal affairs of any country and we've never forbid or forced members to do anything. We all made choices by ourselves, but for the mutual interests. It was a pleasure for me to "work" in the HQ for so long and meet some of the best people in the game during that time. Glad to see it's the first alliance ever to reach 4th birthday, and I hope it will continue to grow and shine above the New World.



Turturica:

I don't know when 4 years passed.
In time, we learned how to work together and little by little we grown into what we are today. Maybe from outside it seems easy, but the way alliance works today is result of many many many (honestly too many hours sometimes 🙂 ) of planning and coordinating. Non of this though would mean anything, if our players wouldn't believe in our common goal. Every little contribution, big or small, is part of our success.
There are a lot of amazing people I met and I am happy some I can call my friends 😉



Colonel Bruce :

Asteria was created pretty quicly, it was an honour to be part of a team, which created the greates alliance in eworld.
I remember many didnt gave much chances for long and dominant role worldwide, yet still, we obviouslly did amazing job!

- More than our enemies expect, our major success doesnt come from our geopolitical skills (they are not bad though), it comes from using our enemies mistakes and fails in our favor

Clorofila :

ASTERIA was the alliance that after EDEN gathered old allies and friends to fight and enjoy together, coordinating actions, talking about strategies and that sort of things. I was part of the HQ a few times in the past and it was a pleasure to speak and share time with my friends over there.
Unfortunately these last years training wars have increased so no real battles or real enemies, no emotion and need of coordination anymore. Anyways, Asteria remains like a beacon of friendship and brotherhood.

Mr. Indigo :

Asteria membership was the best phase Brazil had in the game at least since 2013.

It gave us the opportunity to fix past mistakes we made with Argentina (a member back then) and Romania, to restart our relationship with Serbia, Hungary (back then also a member) and Portugal and to start a closer relationship with Slovenia, China, Greece (also a member back then) and Iran.

During our membership the alliance had its ups and downs, but we always pulled together and overcame the obstacles in our path, be it through diplomacy and/or through force of arms. We as an alliance always had clear objectives in mind and thought of ways of achieving them.

Yes, we as an alliance did win in 2016 the conflicts started in 2014 after the end of TWO.

On a more personal note, we were well received by everybody and during our membership we were treated with respect in all our interactions.

We parted ways in a friendly way when our paths in the game diverged again, but we still do our best to keep the friendships we made during our membership (to name just a few players: Colonel Bruce, KrisTine, I n f 0 r m e r and Cornel😎, always keeping in mind that eRepubik is a game and we play to have fun.

For all of that, I congratulate Asteria for its 4th birthday!

Thank you for asking! I am glad if I have ever contributed to the work and functioning of the alliance. Honestly, I am honoured to be a part of it. To Asteria, I wish many more beautiful years and success!

Wow... 4 years is a lot. It’s kind of cool Asteria still manages to dominate after so many years.
I think the secret for its success it’s the communities that drove the alliance forward and that there is still a good number of people that have fun but also work for the benefit of the alliance, I remember at some point during have wars I would go out of the alliance channel at 2 AM and at 8 AM there were 1200 unread messages 🙂
A special thanks goes to Bogi who tricked me to become SG with “Meh it’s August and nothing happens in August” then all hell broke lose.
And of course since it’s a celebration thanks should go to all the people spending days and nights on planning, coordinating, those who send messages to national armies, those who fight according to orders and all the members of the communities in Asteria.
Special thanks go also to the other side who credits us with at least twice as many plans than we actually had 🙂

First, you are lucky I even saw the message in time as I'm not playing the game anymore.
That being said... Asteria was the one of the best projects I contributed to in the game besides my MU. There were a lot of negotiations to make that happen and in the end it turned out to be really successful.

I wasn't really there during the alliance making process but I had almost daily contacts with people who were and from what I know the very start was really intense. Not much time passed and we already had a country leave the alliance and the half of the other country turned against us. Honestly, it didn't look so promising, I never expected it would last for so long.
But, apparently it did. Why?
Probably because no one is actually forced to do something. We respect plans and needs of each others.
Because we were/are so able to adapt to changes, both game (rules, game mechanic...) and ingame (political) changes.
Because we know our strengths and weaknesses.
Because we actually have military experience, having pure force or money is not enough.
Because we know that military power and diplomacy are equaly important.
And the most importang this is - we have people ready to lead the alliance for one year without a break (willingly or not 😃 )

Back in the beginning, the main objective of the new alliance was to build a powerful core, without the flaws of the former alliances. It was done. I like to believe I contributed in a small part to that. But the most important thing for me is that I met some wonderful people who became my friends for ever. I love you all

Hard and interesting times, I think it was a race who will create alliance first. Other side didn't expect HUN and ROM can be in same alliance, but then miracle happened. I am sure it was TT Lighter idea to name new alliance Asteria. We were using all IRC and TS for talks, and in the same time big wars. I was the first time in some alliance position as SC, with elbandido.
Honestly no one expected that Asteria will hold this long.
Lot's of good people were there when we created Asteria, some I forgot some still playing, others don't.
Florencia, Mircea Drac, karaj22, TT,elbandido, ekto, mlena, etc.

Lot's of good people created best alliance in eRepublik.

From my point of view Asteria is the second Alliance in this game (after EDEN) to create a real bond between it's members, beyond the "We have common enemies" mentality.
Sure, like any "marriage" it had it's ups and downs. It's fallins and fallouts.
But that bond held it together and made it into what it is today.

In my opinion that is the reason it outplayed and outlived all other ephemeral opponents tied only by short-term goals.

Dear friends

Four years ago a group of people from six different countries of our e-world (Greece Serbia Romania Slovenia Hungary and Argentina) have gathered trying to form a new alliance, a new partnership between our e-communities.
We were hopping despite any difficulties (external but also internal) that could arise, our partnership would survive and grow bringing to our communities by means of straggling, as well as many game playing hours, domination and long term success in the e-world.
A constitution of the alliance was written (I have happy to write a considerably large part of this constitution), which was approved by all, and we named our newly found alliance Asteria (it means gathering of stars in Greek). I was fortunate to be the first-among many that followed- leaders of our alliance together with another five very active players- one from each founding country- and the trip in the e-world has started.
Many meetings, many hours spent, lots of new and lasting friendships forged while we straggled to keep the alliance intact and growing. In the way some countries have drifted away (some by majority decisions some by means of dictatorship when the new module has been introduced in the game) others have joint in our group and contributed actively and as months past the alliance grew and prevailed over its opponents again and again, with its greatest weapon the number of active people running the communities.
The years have gone by and Asteria unlike many other alliances is still here strong and dominant. Having spent 5 times as SG of the alliance and over 14 consecutive months in the hq I remain proud of my contribution to our achievements as a group and as a community. I only wish that my country (Greece) was there the entire distance and not having pulled out at some point by the use of dictatorship, but who knows? May be in the future we could still return and continue the trip.
My best wishes for everyone in Asteria (past and present people) and may we all be active in the game to celebrate many more years to come.

Well Asteria is 4 years old now, so we must did something right...Anyway, I was involved when it was created and was SG also, so from this distance I can say it is best alliance so far. Domination is our 2nd name 🙂
Happy bday Asteria and wish you to last atleast 4 more years.

I am quite old and my memory fails me, but I do remember the start of Asteria like it was 1 week ago.
You know I was an EDEN soldier from birth and frankly did not believe in Asteria at the beginning. Especially since the start was kinda rough, but all the bad blood and bad feelings went away when Asteria ditched greece and eKto ("The Parrot" - quote from Atra ❤). I saw how the countries forming Asteria becoming a true family, true friends, all willing to help each other to fully fulfill the alliance agenda.
I am happy I was part of its beginnings and I do see the EDEN spirit in Asteria, now without the drama queens and the liars.



AND I KEEP THE BEST FOR THE LAST!!! 😃

I have tremendous respect for women. I wouldn’t say I’m a feminist. I think that would be, maybe, going too far. I was drunk through half of it, the other lucid times I made good calls and great decisions and made Asteria great again.

Watched Anti-Asteria articles yesterday but was under the impression that we just had WON an election! Why didn’t these people vote or fight? eRep Celebs hurt cause badly.

I did everything by myself, Informer, Bogi , VampireA vladb, Ionutzd, turturica and EBM did nothing and constantly schemed against me because I'm so awesome.

Also, Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again – just watch. He can do much better!

When Pacifica sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bring crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people.
