1. Military Report

Argentina has met with some resistance in its attempt to reset determination in its Spanish territories. The Spaniards battled it out hard and some campaigns ended up being breath-taking. Still, the Argentinians held their ground in true matador spirit and they now rule supreme over Iberia once again. The last spark of opposition is being extinguished out in the Atlantic ocean, where the Spaniards make their final stand in the Canary Islands. Argentina , however, strategically avoids to take over Navarra, so as not to obtain borders with Poland , which means Spain (Sirius) will most likely get Congress. Meanwhile, in what was termed as a commemorative event about the Malvinas dispute, Argentina also launched an offensive against the United Kingdom (Sirius). They started their operation by setting up camp on friendly ground, landing an Airstrike on Upper Normandy, France (Leto). They continued by crossing the English Channel to South East of England and from there marching inland. Soon Canada (Leto) joined the party from overseas flanking the Brits from the West. Albion is now split between the two countries from the Americas and is struggling to recover.

China , the undisputed overlord of Asia, continues to have its integrity and prosperity unchallenged. With battle cries rarely reverberating past the daunting Himalayas or the vast Pacific Ocean the Chinese are allowed plenty of time to find their inner yin-yang balance. Despite the meditation-induced trance, they certainly have not forgotten the fighter than burns within them as with a clean, surgical hit worthy of the samurais they successfully reset determination in Pakistan (Neutral).

Greece successfully mediated between Australia (Leto) and Saudi Arabia (Neutral) so they can both have Congress. The Ausies landed an Airstrike on Jizan and then the Greeks released Al Bahah back to the Saudis. That was the way Greece chose to thank the Australians who had on multiple occasions funded RWs against FYROM (Aurora) out of their own pocket to redirect damage away from Greek fronts. With this seen through, Greece tried to get onboard an Alliance plan to help out Slovenia , along with Romania , by declaring NE on Italy (Aurora). Unfortunately, the campaign was never materialized since various complications and communication breakdowns lead to it being voted down in Congress. Given that Romania was doing an excellent job on its own, Greece turned to the next item on its agenda: working out a deal with Nigeria (proAsteria) to secure 90/90 bonuses by procuring North West State and North East States.

Romania tried for months to get into place for an attack on Chile but multiple Airstrikes by Ireland (Aurora), Paraguay (Aurora) and Turkey (Sirius) stalled its advancement. The Romanians never gave up, though. They kept hammering it down like pros, chasing after the Chileans over Austria (proAsteria) and Switzerland (proAurora). When Poland (Sirius) moved to reclaim rubber in Aquitaine, France , Romania took it on itself to kick Chileans out of Central Europe, which they finally did in the epic battle of Romandie. In so doing, they eliminated a threat to Slovenia . They also selflessly took on Italy to allow Slovenia further room to breathe.

Serbia is once again confronting its arch-nemesis, Croatia (Sirius) in what has to be the most longstanding vendetta of the New World. This theater of war by the Adriatic Sea has been quiet for some time, while Croatia was camping out by Ganges river. Εver since Argentina stormed the Croats out of India (Neutral), however, the animosity flames, so typical of the Balkans, re-ignited furiously. Serbia is by no standards the Empire of the past any longer, but it is still a force to be reckoned with. Proving themselves against their rival is a matter of national pride, so they are determined to fight with tooth and claw to re-affirm their dominion in the area. Bosnia & Herzegovina (proSirius) and Montenegro (Leto) are caught in the cross-fire as always. Both these nations follow the developments of the feud closely to see whether the odds are in their favor for a chance at Congress.



2. “New World Cup” Competition

If you haven’t heard, admins have prepared a massive competition starting tomorrow, 24/06/2014 (eRep day: 2.407). There are some pretty hefty rewards for individuals, regiments, MUs and countries. Rewards of this magnitude will certainly influence operational capabilities in the immediate future, so it is of high importance we, fighters of Asteria, claim as many as we can possibly get our hands on. Since in order to have any real chance at victory our MUs will have to co-operate, the competition provides a wonderful opportunity to work together as an Alliance, get to know people from other countries and fight side by side towards a common objective. Once the Competition starts, even if you move, your stats still count towards the MU and Regiment you belonged to at the “New World Cup” kickoff.
