Yes, there are some problems
Selak Ivan
Hello everyone!
It had been a long time since I quit writing articles, so I decided to write one. My articles were usually about eUSA's amazing supply policies, and other good things which I gained in here, but I am going to write about the dark side of this game today. Please read my article to the end even though my english skill is bad :/
There's one thing I should state before the start. I am going to write about some difficulties which I had in this society. For example, some of my friends are struggling with eUSA's high work tax, but I am in EZC commune so I don't care about our country's work tax a lot. Please keep that in your mind while reading my article!
1. Leaving citizens
Although eUSA is very well-organized community, citizens are still leaving this game. This is not the problem of eUSA, but the problem of whole eWorld. If we just type https://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/xxxxxxx (random 7 numbers in xxxxxxx) and press enter, we can see a lot of level 20>, dead users such as below. (They are all day 2941 new citizens in eUSA)
Anyone can answer there will be a lot of problems in this society if citizens keep quit the game like this. Some of you might say that the problem existed in the past, and we did build a great community now. However, I am not saying that there will be no citizens in eUSA in the future, but I am announcing that we will have more fun if there are a lot of citizens. We are now rank 11 country (or 16... whatever)in the eWorld. Wanna stay in this level? I don't!
2. No events!
Erepublik is one of the biggest MMOG game, but no events! There were a few updates recently, but did you satisfied by them?
Those two were....as TERRIBLE as shit.
I think that two events show Erepublik's problem very well. We must find interest in the game through damned economic module, complicated political module, and year-consuming war module. (because we should two-click before)
That leads to our first problem - most of citizens leave the game.
There's nothing we can do for this problem. We just wait and disappoint, and wait and disappoint again.
3. Scammers, and other bad guys
I am one of the most active citizen in supply systems of eUSA, so you might think it is strange that I am saying about the people who only cares about their profit. But... I think it is different. There are a lot of person who play this game only for their cc and golds. And I hate them, honestly. They don't care about other people. They don't care about our country. The only thing they care about is their cc, golds, and medals.
There are a lot of scammers in our game too. We must doubt our friends before the deal because of this reason. I sold some weapons in the morning today, but some friends said that they can't trust me because my level is low. I don't blame them because I know there are a lot of scammers, but it hurts.
Scammers are not only the people I am saying in this article.
If you are not caring about our community and just making your profit, please STOP now. We have well-organized society. Just enjoy with us!
Some of you guys had bad feelings while reading my article. I am so sorry if you mind about those ones. I just wanted to write about the problem, so our community become more beautiful after fixing those ones. I know that those threes are the problems which we face everyday, and hard to be fixed. And I know there will be other problems while we try to fix them. (I even didn't provided the way to fix them
🙁) However, with a lot of hard-working citizens in our society, I think we can improve our community. Am I too optimistic?
Let's think positive. I hope this article can be a little trigger which fires the gun of beauty in the society. Further, I hope this game become more exciting as our RL!

"Those two were....as TERRIBLE as shit."
hahahahahahahahahahaha
Love the media!
I wouldn't say we're too much of a highly organized community (at face value mayhaps, but honestly there's a lot that can be bettered imo), but it's true - we are having a slowly shrinking population. One solution to this that was being explored was eNASA - recruitment from outside the game, generally from other games. DoCA (the dept that would be running it) decided not to while I was SoCA, largely bc there was a ton of stuff to do in Dept to keep what we got rn alive. DoCA's a massive Dept so, for smth like eNASA to happen I would hazard a guess of 3 months of highly efficient DoCA before the project was taken on.
Agree on much else too. Voted 😁
Here is very interesting article from BMD.

I just want to leave this here:

Personally I don't care that much about the events, I like them, I play them, sometimes I even enjoy them - but overall you need that new players continue playing this game. The question is how you could manage that, if eR gives new players missions and they're like "hell yeah, I'm leveling up, must be great, I like that" - and in the end they see that they just got in a higher division with less than 1k strength and can't do anything.. or they understand the gamemechanics and see, that they would need to train 1,112 days (and just train!) in order to get 100k strength in D1, in order to participate efficiently within the battles.
(hi @ 120k strength players in D1 -> http://bit.ly/1KVRHzN)
Regarding the community I can just say that it seems to be a bit difficult. On the one hand you've got internal political conflicts (which don't really help new players and may even divorce a whole community) with people who are just thinking of their own profit, on the other hand you've got some people who try to involve new players in the political- and community-system - but can this change anything?
Many times I talk to new players in order to get to know what they want to do in this game. I often hear "yeah community stuff, politics, maybe economy" - and how does it end?
.. some of the replies I receive:
- community: some parts are cool, but many people just try to hang on to their positions (even if they haven't done anything in the last months)
- politics: great, either you have a dictator or.. well.. you can propose one out of 6 laws.. also here: people just try to hang on to their positions
- economy: invest $$ in order to build a company.. and then it takes years until you generate profit (http://bit.ly/1Lt8fKB)
And in the end they say "hey, I want to fight" - and then they realize that they won't be able to do anything.
So... your comment stop there? We are shrinking, and there's nothing we can do? Let's be more optimistic Master_rg. For instance, DoCA is working well (especially last month was wonderful. Hale did very great job), and there are a lot of people who work hard for our society. I want our society to think about "How can we attract new guys to the deep game?"
And for the events, the main problem is that there are a lot of non-fighting citizens in the game like me, and Erepublik is not considering them.
Erepublik is a game which need small amount of time for just two-clicking, but we cannot enjoy this game truly just through two clicking. And a lot of users are leaving because of that reason.
I think we have somewhat similar opinion but we both can't find proper solutions for the problems. 🙁
"So... your comment stop there?"
Yeah, because 2,000 characters aren't enough to provide an in-depth analysis of the problem.
There aren't any easy solutions for that as you would need to change some basic gamemechanics in order to make the game enjoyable for new players again.
I'm optimistic and still hoping that at some point things will change.. otherwise I wouldn't have started eRepublik-Deutschland.de. The thing is that I get in touch with many new players because of my tools, and the shown replies above should give you a view on the problems of eR - and as I said already: It shows that you (as a player) are not able to change it.
Well said.
I like the events but I wouldn't like to see them too often: otherwise they stop attracting me. I need regular weeks to recover and not to worry about clicking. Once or twice in a month tops, perhaps some weekend stuff as well, but definitely not weekly.
As you said the strength system is rigged but how to repair it? Admins are too afraid losing their profit to do something game changing. I would try something radical like capping the strength and/or allowing reborn to lower division with zero xp.
The strength cap could be like first 1/2—1 year training and after that you would need to train regularly to keep your strength at max for that division. After you go higher division, that is the new bottom and there is a new cap to achieve.
Reborning would be interesting. Of course one should save all the previous gain/achievements and perhaps be able to switch back for some gold but only after like 1/2 year or so. Reborning would start you zero strength but with old resources in the account (perhaps some gold used to reborn). And it shouldn't be like jumping from 4th to 3rd, but only from 4th to 1st and then level up regularly, when hitting 4th division again, all previous stats should be combined.
But there is many problems to fix this game. On the other hand it feels that admins' real goal is to milk this game dry in next years..
Ps. I'm a huge fan of your page. 🙂
thank you very much, glad you like it! 🙂
Hmmm...3 months old and already over 630 subs
Geee, where can I sign up for my MM?
"Erepublik is one of the biggest MMOG game"
lol, not even close. maybe top 100 if you include fakes / banned / dead citizens
I am frog in the well. Croak!
oh and
"3. Scammers, and other black guys"
that's pretty fucking racist man..
He said his English isn't great, I'm thinking he meant "black guy" in terms of being a bad person, not someone of African descent
Oh... I didn't mean that... I tried to say about some bad guys.
Fixed 🙂
I was just joking man 🙂
Hey, I am not familiar with jokes in english 😉
Try them in Korean, and I'll far above you! hehe
Great read 🙂
This is one article I enjoy reading. Great read! o/
I'd be happy to become a US citizen to make up for the dead accounts, though I have received the immigration forms, I'm unclear about the relationship of South Africa (which I hold no allegiances to, it just sounded cool way back when I signed up...sigh) to the US, so if anyone has time to explain a few things about the game to me, I'd love to learn and make the most of it.
Thanks for positing this
nice article!
STAY STRONG!
