Why I'm Voting for XG

With the elections coming up in just over a days time, the news is filled with articles explaining why you should vote for one candidate or another, or who's in who's cabinet, or what the candidates plan on doing if they become the country president. As you can probably tell from the party I'm in, I'll be voting for Xavier Griffith. This article isn't trying to convince anyone to vote for XG instead of Witherd, I'm just trying to get my perspective out there.

I'm not an experienced player. I'm still in division one - I'm not even level 25. I've recently started eRepublik again - I've been playing again for a little over a month. There are a couple of reasons why I'm going to be voting for XG instead of Witherd - I'm not trying to insult Witherd in any of this. I respect him for the work he is doing - he has helped eAus a lot this term. But there are a couple of reasons I'm voting for Xavier Griffith, starting with:

1: Xavier Griffith supports the Circle of Trust, and wants eAustralia to join it. eAustralia hasn't joined a regional alliance in a long time, and with many of our powerful neighbours, as well as most of our traditional allies, either in CoT or pro CoT, it is a very good choice for Australia to join. There are minor problems with the CoT, however my personal opinion is that joining the Circle of Trust is a very good strategic move for eAustralia - we would have strong alliances with powerful people in our region!



2: XG is after peace with eChile, and has been a key part of making the agreement with eChile. eChile has been attacking us for quite some time, and we've been completely wiped for some time. XG has shown that he can communicate and deal with eChile and our other neighbours effectively - he was one of the key members in negotiating the deal with eChile, and this proves to me that he can lead our country in the diplomatic department



3: XG listens and helps the new players - I've only recently joined, and XG and the rest of the ARP (especially you Lousie!) have been the most welcoming and nice people in eAus. I published an article that got their attention, and they took me in, have updated me on whats changed in the last 3 years, and helped me get back into the game. Without them, I would still be clueless!

He's willing to talk to and help the noobs - something that is so important as the CP - he needs to be able to understand what it's like to be a new player, and he needs to make decisions with the new players in mind. I'm not saying Witherd is mean to the new players, he just didn't act like XG did, at least to me. He has even given a bunch of new players roles in his cabinet, to educate them on how eAustralia works.



In summary, both candidates are good players who will help eAus, but for the reasons outlined above, I feel that XG is the better candidate. Good luck to both of them tomorrow, but I'm voting for XG!
