What's in a Name?
Ralph Kline
The latest update provides us with the ability to change our name, for a fee ,of course. No surprise there, but that's another story altogether.
The question being, why?
Many of us picked names when we first started, that we simply don't like. A typo, a mis-spelling or perhaps it does not suit the personality we are or wish to become. I have seen a few that make me shake my head, or laugh out loud, literally.
I don't like my name, and I have often thought of changing it. Always before though, what stopped me was the hassle of having to send a ticket and explain to others why. Now that this has been made easier by the admins, I spent today trying to find a way to describe myself, or a least, indulge myself with a new name.
Trouble is, now I don't want to.
I realized that, my name has absolutely nothing to do with who I am in eRepublik. My name is not for me, it's for others to recognize me, what I do and the company I keep.
I'm good with that.

First changed!
Three years ago I had registered an org with a typo. When I asked about getting that fixed, they told me to hang tight and that they would provide a way to fix it. Who knew they actually meant it!
I've thought about changing my name but it wouldn't give me any anonymity so what's the point?
tell that to this guy: http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1353822
lol
I declare 8th of October for international day of the PTO-ers.
As this upgrade makes their job far easier.

Gotta agree, the name I chose was completely wrong and I picked it for all the wrong reasons but misunderstanding what the game was. But seriously now could the goddess not exist? Don't think so.
well spoken
Indeed, find the zen.
Good Article!
That which we call a rose can be yours for only 5 golds.
In my case, being leewas here and krimpie on irc....
Just makes it easier to find me
I've wanted to change my username for a while, but I came to the same conclusion you did and don't want to now that I can, either.

I would change my name but I can't think of a better way to troll myself.
I am at peace with the universe as well...Sort of...I mean I did engage in the exercise of finding a new name for meself or twicking this one somehow.
Serious name changers start a new account and let the old one die. Taking shortcuts is just another game cheat to recreating your citizen.
I once thought about buying an account, in order to gain a better advantage (ie stronger citizen, better stats, etc). But it occurs to me that I am TemujinBC, and TemujinBC is me.
In fact:

One should not try to hide from that which is real.

has he had that name all along, or did he just change it to that?!
Congressmen should be extra careful with donate proposals now. How about changing your name to Congressional Budget Office with a small typo and bribe a congressmen to make the proposal?
