We have a problem...

Day 2,997, 09:27 Published in Belgium Belgium by Arriaes

Dear Belgian citizens, we have a problem and it's a very serious one. I'm talking about a problem much worse as being wiped or getting PTO'ed. I'm talking about an illness in our country much worse as any other illness a country can get in erepublik. I'm talking ofcourse about our inactivity problem. Because i (and everyone else i assume) want to solve this problem i have a couple of suggestions i would like to make to govenments to come.

Suggestion No.1:

I believe that we should restart and promote the ambassador system. For those of you that aren't familiar with the ambassador program, here's a short introduction: New players can sign up for the ambassador program and will be appointed a country based on the languages they speak, their preferences, earlier contacts etc. After they have been appointed a country it is their job to follow the news, the political scene, military actions,... in this country and make reports in the Belgian media. This system involves new players in foreign affairs and includes them in the Belgian community. Furthermore it will boost our media activity. I believe that this program would also boost new players understanding of the eWorld and it's mechanics trough the reading/writing of these articles. Obviously it would also give the ambassadors newspapers a boost and it might strenghten our relations with the country for whom the player is ambassador.

Suggestion No.2:

Our ministery of education has become a position that is handed out after presidential elections but that rarely does anything. This is not an attack on our current MoE but something that has been so for quite a long time. I dare you to go to the Belgian gov newspaper and see when the last time an informative article was published. I think we should make MoE a much more active and important position again that informs newer players not only on our current situation but also on game mechanics. Simple new player guides on how to make money with super soldier medals etc. should be published or even republished after a certain time period to keep players informed.

Suggestion No.3:

Boost the forums! The forum is a very easy place to debate or have some fun. It's also the most important pillar for meta-gaming stuff. The forums are a very good platform to organise citizen programs or contests. If our forum would be more active a lot of people could find a bunch more joy in the game. I know that a part of the Belgian community is against the forum for some reason but i'm sure this can be worked out. After all, think of the possibilities we could have if we had a good working and active forum!

Suggestion No.4:

The (re)implimentation of a minestery of activity should be a priority in my eyes. We need an active citizen that uses his time to promote activity in Belgium. How he fullfills his task is up to him/her but he should get a small budget of a couple of gold to be able to organise contests, sponsor new players to make newspapers,...

Suggestion No.5:

We should promote Belgium in other countries to stimulate a controlled amount of immigration to Belgium. We have the advantage that we have an english speaking community so people from all over the world are able to function in our society. We could publish articles in other countries attracting players to our country. Ofcourse we would have to make sure that no PTO groups get in by doing background checks but that's nothing new.

Suggestion No.6:

This suggestion might be seen as a bit strange or utopian by some because of the radical impact it would have on our society. It would also need a lot of arrangements and i don't know if it is possible at this time but i personally think it could be a life saving (and changing) turn of events for our country. I propose a reïmplementation of the "United Netherlands". Not only would this double our population it would also double our military strenght, media activity, region production bonuses, new players addition rate,... It would change our society radically and i think that the change on itself would already boost activity. There would be a lot of debating and reorganising etc. all by all it would mean a lot of activity for both our and the Dutch community. They are facing the same devastiting illness in their society and only by making a radical change in our historties we can make our communities active and interesting again.

I hope to see some of these suggestions implemented in our society.
