UKRP Means Reform, No?

Day 3,456, 23:26 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Dishmcds
Day 3,

My fellow countrymen (and women, of course!),

As we approach dawn on day 3, we are beginning to see some of what we, the Senate have in store for you. There are a lot of questions, and resistance remains in place. The thing is, that's okay. We don't mind, and we're fully prepared for this. We knew getting you to change out of your every day habit of the last 4 years wasn't going to be easy.

So let's break this down into two frequently asked questions and answer them for you:

1. If this is meta-game, isn't it a waste of my time?

The answer is quite simply a resounding no. Let's be real about what the UK is right now, and has been for a while: mediocre, inactive, and basically rolling through on clicks. The game itself has been that way in a lot of places for a very long time. We're trying to do something, anything, to make this just a bit more interesting to motivate you, our fellow UKer to sit up straight, and say "I want to do more" or "I don't like this, let's do this", or hell, even "I hate your guts and I am going to organize against you". Do it. We welcome the competition. We want your input. We want your energy. The whole point of an open Senate originally was to allow for everyone's involvement at almost every level. Appleface will tell you, our goal is to empower you. Not Ajay though. Just you!

2. Are you going to limit decision making to your little group?

The answer, once again, is quite simply a resounding no. We still have to function through game mechanics, elections, taxes/monetary limitations, and so on. You're as welcome to get involved as anyone. The problem is that involvement (including my own when I walked away some time ago) was at an all-time low, and a small handful of people were doing all the jobs. We want this to be fun, so get off your rear ends and get involved. Help us, oppose us, whatever you want, but do something. We're tired of the UK not pulling it's own weight, and a major change was needed to try and put life back into it.

Now that all those nice things have been said, let's put this out there:

I'll be running for UKRP Party Presidency this time around. I welcome all competition. I'll have a manifesto of sorts put together in the next day or so. As one of the earlier members of the party, I believe in our name, our mission, and our history. I believe in our membership, and I believe in progress. I think this month we need to start small-ish, but we need to get back to the party organization standards that we were based on that has helped us be successful for the last 10 years.

As always, it is time, United Kingdom. It is time to swear loyalty to our great country.

FOR THE REPUBLIC.
