The True Price of the Maverick Pack

Well, where to start? After a month of protesting and dismay at Admins newest pack, after 30 odd days of split community and vocal opposition to a division-switching pack, Admin have finally acted!

Yes my friends, they have added the 14,9€ Maverick Pack to our 'free-to-play' eRepublik world.



I would like to bring your attention to one 'little' number: 14,9€. For only 14,9€ a month, people who purchase the Maverick Pack can "Dominate in all divisions".

Many of you do not wish to buy this Pack, quite rightly so, for there are plenty other ways you can spend your hard earned cash.



As I live in the UK, for this section I shall use British statistics:

The hourly minimum wage in the UK is £6.70, approximately 7,73€. (I know most of we will earn a lot more than this, but let's just go with it...) Therefore, on minimum wage, it would take about 2 hours to earn enough money to buy a Maverick Pack.

What could you do with 2 hours?:

-Half an hour a week could be used to volunteer in your local community. How about teaching people to read, or helping in a local children's charity shop?
-Perhaps you could go for a light cycling ride? A 10 M.P.H. pace for two hours can burn upwards of 800 calories.
-Maybe pick up a new book with your extra half hour a week? A bit of self improvement time. I suggest reading 'Diary of a Madman' by Lu Xux, its a great short story to read!



Surely there has to be something else you can spend your money on? Oh wait, there is, in fact, many things.

Lets see: (For these prices, I'm using a well known online site that sounds like "Amazon".)

-Casio wristwatch: 7,82€
-Levi t-shirt: 13,61€
-Apple earphones: 5,30€
-The new Harry Potter ‘book’: 14,99€ (Okay, a little over)



Lets talk about foo😛

-A "Big Mac" in Spain costs 3.65€. You could buy four for a price of the Maverick Pack.
-You can pick up a couple of bottles of cheap wine of 14€ in many local shops.



What about for your loved ones?

-You can buy your mother some flowers.
-How about getting your girlfriend some chocolates?
-Don't have a girlfriend? Two pints won't set you back more than the price of a Maverick Pack, that's a date right there!



How about charity, giving back to society and helping those around you?
14,9€ a month can:

-Help refugees in Syria
-Tackle homelessness in your local area
-Give food to malnourished children in the developing world
-Fight Cancer and help progress towards a cure.



This is just my 2 cents (you can get a lot of them for 14,9€). Last but not least, for only 14,9€ a month, you can switch division in eRepublik!

BONUS: At the current rate of 225k CC for the Maverick Pack, it would take 9000 endorsements to cover the cost!
