Join the new world

So today I am announcing that I will not run for president for April-May


Fooled you didn't I? Yeah I thought not 😛

But no seriously, I am.

First off, I want to say that this month has been a whirlwind of change and exuberance. Almost all of our nation's goals for the term of March 5th - April 5th are either close to completion or soaring through with flying colors. At the top of the list is the eSocalism project meticulously monitored by PigInZen, Hekter, and the Bank of the ePhilippines and the result has been the establishment of several citizen run food corporations, a spur of lower prices, and a sharp increase in civilian activity in military engagements. This sort of leads me into another achievement, which is the revival of our military force and an adaptation to the new military units. Quite frankly, our entire cabinet and President Perry have done a fantastic job keeping everything organized and facilitating a steady transition into a new style of military engagement. Our military victory in Austria is just one example of how far we have come from our engagement with Columbia.

Furthermore, our Congress seems much more active than it has previously been, the forums are abuzz with activity (if you don't have a link, then borrow this one here) and seem to now be reviving themselves. Also, we are now host to a swarm of new immigrants to the country (thanks to, no less, PiZ) who seem to be bursting with activity and new ideas. Above all, we finally have all of our regions back and ready to help provide needed economic bonuses.

Brief Overview of Me

Again, here I am running for president after really, really close election cycle we had last month. And for everyone's pleasure I shall go back over my current occupations here in the ePhilippines. I am the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and for such a cooperative job (with the President), this month was particularly interesting given the giant engagement between eIndo and eChina dancing around our borders. I aided the President in keeping contact with the eChinese and explaining our situation to the eIndonesians with our situation. I have had plenty of experience with Foreign Affairs and had a handle with some executive responsibilities that will come up over the next month.

In addition, I have been a several time either Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the House as well as a Member of the Congress. Currently I am helping to codify our countries' immigration system, supporting the tariff reforms that were proposed a while back, and working with the current immigration department to help finalize the TMG group's entrance. So it is a combination of legislative and executive know how...what more at this point? 😛

Goals for this month



"Normalcy" is the theme of my presidential campaign for this month: nothing too radical or reforming in changes, or (hopefully) in domestic/foreign events that shall take place in ePH (but hey, its eRepublik...so 🙂 ). In short, just to continue "business as usual" without the mediocrity and stagnation, to which I believe that over the next few months our economic/militaristic/political/social fortunes shall continue to rise with the good times. To facilitate this "normalcy" of the up and up, I plan to continue or accomplish a few things during my term.

Continue the "eSocalism/eFarmville/ePuffyLandOwningAristocracy" project; Moniter the Economy

Pretty self explanatory really. The initative that was undertaken last month by the Bank and PigInZen has turned out to be a very successful enterprise to undertake in. In all reality I would love to see more of this independent property and production ownership continue and expand to more of the ePhilippines' citizens.

Also, the currency exchanges have been going for a wild ride (right now they are in highly negative spreads), and with a dedicated economic team my administration would be all over it. If there is any change we shall be very quick to correct it, and if our economy is in need of any jump-start the first people I shall be talking to is congress. We have a pretty significant tariff reduction and reform plan going through Congress, so it shall be interesting to see the results of it.

Expand our role in Luna; Monitor SEA

Luna is one of those new, terrific ideas that Hekter created out on the fly with the aid of several other foreign leaders (you don't know about it? Try here) who want to facilitate some form of cooperation in a close knit group of neutral countries. Sounds like a good plan, plus the name is the opposite of Sol...so yay 😃 . On the other front, the situation with Peninsular Malaysia and the current diplomatic negotiations with eSingapore and eMalaysia are quite interesting, and I would be the head of an administration that would watch over developments carefully.

Maintain Activity at Home and Monitor Immigration

Mostly a task I plan to coordinate with Congress on. I am looking forward to working with Speaker Revilo and Deputy Speaker Sigurd. 😃

Get the Ministry of Merriment active again

Your in the cabinet for sure this time. Please take full advantage of the situation and go bonkers in writing. Indie may not be "running" for president per-say, but the "Indie for President Party" is running for president...does that count? 😉
