The harsh reality.
Legendardisch
In the past few days, I, Henri, Augugustus, Alex and De La Rey were talking, on the initiative of Henri, to come up with our ideas on how to solve the 'political crises'. De La Rey was the first one to respond with the demands, PP votes, and that the CoC cant moderate congress. The falling block to me was the PP vote, it's undemocratic and quite frankly promotes laziness, which I will go in detail later on. Auggy was the one to suggest to get rid of the quorum and change up the forums.
My first suggestion was to abolish the dictatorship, reasoning behind this is that many smaller nations don't have it, and that the dictatorship has been chokeholding the whole country since we took it.
Later on, most of us aggreed, not as PP's, but as the people throwing around ideas, that PP voting is not the way to go, and that it only creates more elitism (the very thing ReL claims to combat) So all in all, we were throwing around ideas. Fast forwarding to now, and GDLR is claiming that the talks have became a platform of insults against ReL and Revv claiming that I hijacked the discussion. It's not the case. GDLR doesn't want to compromise. But that's not the issue.
What my issue is, is the fact that a discussion is needed on the way we vote.
Because frankly, it's not.
Yesterday, DemNL made sure a flop of a proposal by Revvenge was rejected, Yesterday, DemNL was the majortiy, Yesterday, most of the DemNL congress man voted. Why am I able to make sure my CM's vote, Why am I able to do this, and ReL not? ReL has the power to decide the outcome of every proposal at vote, if only they weren't too lazy to log in to the forums, read the debates, and decide based on it. And this is the trend for almost two years already, that ReL simply does not show up, say for a few, a tiny few. In the 24 hours ReL had, they should have been able to vote, they should have been able to make sure Revv's proposal passed if they cared so much as they claim, but they did not, they neglected their opportunity, like always. ReL is only able to show up en-masse when they are threathened to lose some power, with the latest case being 'Toniegate'. Yet here we are, talking on how to fix a system, that yeah can be improved, but is not totally broken. If the ReL CM's show up when votes happen, we will reach the quorum, If they show up we DO represent everyone. But ReL neglects to do so, because they seem to be lazy, and use odan and the system as a scapegoat. ReL has all the power and abilities they need to decide what happens, they neglect to use it, that's not my problem, that's not the problem of the system, but that's the problem of ReL and only ReL, instead of making proposals that promote this, we should be making proposals that punish this. But no, it has to be easier for ReL to have power by doing nothing. And that, that is the truth, that is the harsh reality.

Dutch real-life politics is all about making compromises. It's in our culture, just listen at how often the word is used during plenary sessions in the Tweede Kamer. I don't ser how any of this will work if even one of the parties can't give up a small part of it's demands. I did it by saying that, with me, everything is negotiable... why can't ReL and GPN do the same?
But in the end, does it matter? Are we allowing them to be applauded for being lazy, or are we going to make a turn, and start punishing this type of behaviour.
I'm not in for that. To sanction a party is to make them feel unwanted/not taken seriously, we won't gain anything by doing that. What we need is a normal dialogue. It is possible to fix this with the five of us, but only if we're willing to work together.. all of us.
Why, ReL decides not to be involved for almost 2 years. Why should I adapt to their problems.
It seems very clear to me that we need a lower quorum, or a better way to reach said quorum. If ReL doesn't want to participate that is fine, end of month just post what votes have been and attendance of which parties. If good things don't get done case a party is boycotting for BS reasons than people will simply stop voting soon enough.
So no need to politically try and going after them, just post a oversight for people each month as government with Votes that have been and % of CMs that voted of which party, and voters will see which parties would best represent them, a well as which parties do not.
Fosite, that is one hell of a great suggestion. As MoHA I will be tracking the votes, and will compile it at the end of the month.
Emotions are usually a factor that limits discussions. In this case, the hatred between both sides makes it that no cpmromise is possible since everyone is stuck on their arguments and refuses to move. I tried to break that in eBelgium and failed miserably since due to hate and emotions people refuse to even accept the slightest compromise...
wut's goin on over der?
Belgium and the Netherlands have been baking waffles together if you know what I mena (I don't know what I mean, pls help, am I toggling? What does toggling even mean, and what does baking waffles mean?)
