Revive our Republic - External Affairs

Day 2,204, 00:02 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Monsieur Guillontine

Salut madams and monsieurs,

As always, military and foreign affairs are always crucial to a nation’s success and prosperity; and for Switzerland, military and foreign affairs are specifically essential to our community’s well-being.

Throughout Switzerland’s existence, we have had to navigate through the maze of war and peace. There have been times when we should not have had war, and there have been times when we should not have had peace. Ultimately, diplomacy is the reason we are alive today; but at the same time, we cannot forget the wars we have passionately fought to protect our country and honor.

As President, diplomacy will always be the first option; I will respect and uphold any treaties we draw up with other nations. I have written, proposed, and signed countless treaties with Slovenia in the past as both President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and no doubt will I continue to press for Switzerland’s independence.

And yet, we all know that, sometimes, war is inevitable. Right now, we have lost our region, Alberta, in Canada. Slovenia has rejected our generous treaty. The time for war is now. But as President, it is not realistic to believe that we can wage a blind resistance war against Slovenia; we must strategically reclaim our homeland. It is crucial for Switzerland to build up its reputation in the international community. If we do not make an effort to assist our allies in their own resistance wars, how can we expect them to return the favor? Essentially, believe that if our military directed more attention toward our allies’ battles, we would be building stronger relationships with our friends in the process; for example, if we assisted the Italian independence movement, the people of Italy will, one day, reciprocate our kind actions. In what way or capacity? I do not know. However, by strengthening relations now, we are preparing Switzerland for the future - a future where, even in times of crisis, other nations will enthusiastically support us.

Lastly, I believe that now is the time to reintroduce the Swiss Ambassador Program. In the past, this program not only increased community participation and involvement, but also established strong relationships with other nations. Thus, by establishing embassies and ties with other countries, Switzerland will once again be able to foster mutual understanding as well as greater civic participation amongst the community.

No longer shall we look in the past; together, we will invest in our future. Make your voice heard. Make your vote count. Vote Monsieur Guillontine for Country President! Revive our Republic!

Let's fight. Fight for peace.

Yours truly,
Monsieur Guillontine
Presidential Candidate
