Open letter to UK-Reform

It is with a heavy heart I am writing this letter. I realise I could have send it in private although I doubt anyone would log onto the forum these days and if I wanted to put it on our party feed I had to cut it down in little pieces.

In a way I feel like a hypocrite for writing you what I am about to tell you. Between 2015 and early 2017 I was a two-clicker at best and I was guilty of the same thing I am getting upset by with you guys. For the past 4 months, or is it more, I can’t remember, I have this nagging feeling that things aren’t alright. We still own 7/9/8 seats in congress and when I see the number of people voting it is safe to say about 25 party members are still alive. Yet our party feed is death. The last two months we haven’t had a single article out in the media advertising our party. If and when I see party members wake up itis mainly to be critical for the players who are putting in an effort.

I don’t feel at home in UK-Reform anymore. During my CP term I couldn’t count on a single party member to have my back. Oh yes you would press a button and vote the way I wanted you to vote but what I needed was players to exchange thoughts with who actively worked with me and not the silent masses that UK-Reform has become. A month later I was MoFa for Roachford which was a little better because we had each other although we never had any real talk before that first day in office. He might have well been from another party we just didn’t know each other. Meanwhile I had stupidly enough stated that Certacito should be Part President and ask people not to vote for me. Another big disappointment to see that he didn’t even manage to have a representative congress list up for election. This month we have Wookie who has his hands full at home put himself on the list for Party President to make sure we have a list of players up. Rob being its minimalistic self is “around”... Dave Trenga always quick to judge but not willing to put in hours either.I could go on but…I also could take it in my own hands were it not that Party Politics is not my forte and never will be.

Today I am leaving MY party with pain in my heart. I feel bad because I promised to guarde the party and by leaving it I am doing the opposite. I need to be able to have a conversation with the people I play this game with. Those conversations are certainly not happening in our party with a discord channel that every few weeks someone says a few words just to not let it die. A party feed where the only thing you read is urgent request of actually putting yourself on the list for party elections or for pointing out how we should not support the most active CP candidate because he happens to be from the wrong political spectrum.

The UK has become so small and inactive it has become ridiculous to have a multiple party system. If I had my way I would throw it all together and have the few active players defend their beliefs within the one party. Maybe a less drastic solution would be a two party system.

Today I am joining UKPP, or the “pirate cats” is how they call themselves now. This must be the most weird thing I have ever done in 7 years playing erepublik. I am not following my heart because that will always be reserved for UK-Reform but I am following common sense. Working in Government month after month who consist of the few active players around who happen to be mostly from UKPP it is the only people I can talk with so I can better just go join them and make communication even more easy that way.

tl;tr: I am leaving UK-Reform and joining UKPP for they are the only ones I
seem to talk with these days.
