On Conduct

I don’t usually write articles in response to a very small but vocal group of people but I deemed it quite necessary in this case. A very small number of people have said some very heinous and very personal things about myself in the past days. I would like to take this moment to address this.

On Conduct
People have their differences and controversies will always persist. How we conduct ourselves in light of these events is especially important. When I picked an unflattering picture of Zooey, paint her eyes red, and decried how FG is terrible and dishonest, it is done from a place of love and hilarity. It is something she will look back and laugh at, and rightfully so. What I never do, is send people messages cursing them or making personal accusations. Doing something so heinous is cancerous, wrong and flies in the face of decency.

This is a game, we can have our fun. But we must do so with tact, consideration, courteousness and good faith. The second we start to launch personal attacks at one another we lose sight of so much. We destroy bridges that will never be rebuilt and create divisions that will be mended.

I, myself have been guilty of this in the past, and there is really no excuse. Even when attacked in such barbarous ways one should never shrink from his duty of decency to others. So I ask, and I hope that going forward the community of our game can exercise a level of civility and decency that can make us all proud.
