McFarland Constructions continues to operate as it always has:

~ We are always looking for new volunteers willing to work for 2 USD.
~ The minimum constructions skill varies between 2 and 4 daily.

Operation Mayhem:

Sometime during the Presidency of Emerick the Great, I engaged in talks with my friend Lucius "Lucky" Varenus, Commandant, eUSMC. As of Day 680 we have launched Operation Mayhem, to operate McFarland Hospitals as a joint venture between the eUSMC/eAirborne and McFarland Constructions. We continue to produce Q5 Hospitals for the eUSA, to be deployed or stockpiled per Presidential decision.
~ Volunteer workers are still necessary on a daily basis, due to military deployments.
~ This is all the public information available on this partnership.



Project FAQ:

1. McFarland Constructions is designed to produce Q5 infrastructure for donation to the eUSA.
2. I cover all expenses 100% myself. Contributions are welcome, but unnecessary.
3. I do ask for volunteer labor, working at a $2 USD salary. This project requires volunteer constructions labor. There is only so much money I am able to put forward each day at a 100% loss. I want to work with like-minded volunteers who are willing to sacrifice some time to help rebuild the eUSA.
4. This is a continuous and long-term project. It is my intent to prepare us now for our current and future infrastructure needs. We cannot predict the future.
5. I make no claims to know better than the government. I trust the government executive and military leadership to make domestic deployment and/or stockpile decisions. They have the big picture view I lack.
6. Export sales are only undertaken at the request of executive and military leaders to assist our allies. All volunteers are offered 100% reimbursement for their labor in the event of an export sale.
7. This is just how I choose to spend my money to help our country. My thanks to all the patriots who choose to sacrifice with me for the collective good of our nation. Their sweat and sacrifice shall make our nation strong.
8. You are welcome to join us, if not with your labor, then with your voice. Articles, shouts, posts, etc, are always welcome to spread the word and attract high-skill volunteers.

McFarland Homework Assignments:

McFarland Homework Assignments serves as the unofficial eUSA constructions industry training hub.
~ Why is it necessary to privately fund an unofficial constructions industry training hub?
~ The entry-level constructions industry is currently facing some serious difficulties.
~ The prospects for the future of the constructions industry are dicey if left unassisted.

There are some problems caused by the strong USD and the high minimum wage.
~ The strength of our currency has made it less profitable to hire skill zero workers.
~ The minimum wage cannot go below 1 USD; this wage floor harms the market.
~ Thus there are often no jobs present for skill zero workers in the constructions industry.
~ Thus there are sometimes no jobs present all the way up to skill three in constructions.
There are some problems faced by entry-level constructions companies.
~ Hospitals and Defense Systems have no market for Q1-Q4 in the eUSA.
~ This makes it impossible to build quality; managers must jump from nothing to Q5.
~ Homes are durable products; they are expensive and often sold on the black market.
~ This makes it difficult for two-clicker managers, decreasing private profits and tax revenue.
There are serious potential long-term consequences.
~ Constructions currently have the highest Skill 7 daily salaries.
~ Lots of new citizens want to train in constructions for the eventual high wages.
~ Constructions currently have the lowest daily salaries at lower skill ratings.
~ Lots of new citizens cannot survive on these salaries without guidance and stop playing.
There is much analysis which can be done; I am no economist and will focus on basics.
~ There is the danger that down the road we will have a dearth of high skill workers.
~ The often absolute lack of entry-level job offers removes the opportunity to climb skill ratings.
~ There is the reality that new citizens in this industry need significant mentorship.
~ The low wages and spotty job offers discourage new citizens.

This is why I operate McFarland Homework Assignments as a constructions training company.

This allows me to best provide for the future of the constructions industry and for our new citizens.
~ I think the eUSA would be better served if this were a government program.
~ I think the eUSA should operate a training hub in each of the three industries.
~ These three training hubs could then be closely linked into the government programs for new citizens.
Should the government ever prove willing to build a constructions training hub I’d like to help.
~ I’d be happy to pay 100% costs for setting up the organization and company/ies.
~ I’d be happy to fund daily operations 100% for the first few months until this gets in the budget.
~ I’d be happy to run operations until a competent and dedicated team of government managers come along.
~ I’d be happy to train these new managers to take over.
~ I’d consider limited sharing of some private grease monkey scripts I use to make life easier.

There are similar companies operating in other industries:
1. Fort Harlot Weapons is the official eUSA government-funded manufacturing industry training hub.

~ The recent idea of the training company was initiated by ligtreb; check out his article covering the subject for some history on the matter. He started things off privately, but was quickly able to get some substantial government support behind him. No small feat, to say the least.
2. Great Ape Iron T serves as the unofficial eUSA land industry training hub.
~ Great Ape Iron T is operated by Colin Lantrip.
~ Colin has taken it upon himself to self-fund the eUSA unofficial land industry training company, without any government financing. I can say from personal experience that this is no small expense. Between his two training companies (he also offer a back-up manufacturing industry training hub) he currently employs 188 workers. That is 188 USD paid in daily salaries; the expense adds up quickly, and these companies do not make a profit.
