Jacques Cousteau for President of Ireland [part.1]
Jacques Cousteau
"Greetings, fellow citizens of Ireland.
With profound gratitude and great humility I would like to officially announce that I am going to run for the Presidency in May. I think that my time has come and now, I am fully convinced that I can lead, protect and help this country. I want to thank all of you here and all the Irish Union Party, Fenian Brotherhood, Irish Independent Party, Irish Labour Party and The Epic Party members, in all parts of this great country, for supporting my run. We are one people. And we need to end the political strategy that`s been all about division, and instead make it about addition. To build a coalition that stretches through all the Irish political parties.
We seek to establish a harmony between man and society which will allow each of us to enlarge the meaning of his life and all of us to elevate the quality of our civilization. We need to form a cohesive society, and I`ll try my best to accomplish this noble mission. Even if we`ll have to change the Constitution of the Republic for this.
I think all of you knows something about my real life but if not, here`s a short summary:
I am a student, and a “sportsman”. I am studying biology and atomic physics in a Medical University’s cardiology department, and I am a professional water polo player. I have to admit that I am an active folk, which means that I always try to do my best, if I accepted a job, or promised something to somebody. For further information about my RL and eRep career please visit my wiki page. 🙂
We are a small country, with a low population, and without a cohesive community we can`t do anything significant. I am sure. That`s why we need to learn how to respect and help each other, cause we`re from the same nation. My friends, we're not a country that would rather go back than forward. We are all citizens of eIreland, and an Irishman don't hide from history. They make history. We need to see through the “foggy dew” and realize that we need to respect our fellows. If you're willing to work with me, and fight with me, and stand with me in May, then I promise you, we will build a nation worthy of their future.
During my erep career I learned that the citizens aren't interested in an election where they are just talked to and not listened to. So please, fell free to comment any thoughts you have.
We need to listen to each other, and this is the first step of making a cohesive Irish community.
I believe in this country, I believe in Ireland, and I believe in Irish people. I`m sure we can do anything together.
Thank you, sir for reading the first part of Cousteau`s Presidential manifesto and at 5th of May vote for Ireland, vote for Jacques Cousteau.”
Jacques Cousteau,
The Party President of the Irish Union Party
The Irish Minister of Immigration
Teachta Dála for Cork and Kerry.

good luck but just one question "do you plan on attacking the UK if elected?"
Good luck Jacques!
lol moo
good luck mate o7
That's all good but what can you do?
Vote Cousteau on the 5th : )
" realize that we need to respect our fellows."
We don't already?
Ireland's more united that ever, if there's one time the Irish are one people it's when facing the threat of British occupation 😛
"Even if we`ll have to change the Constitution of the Republic for this."
Are you for real, your basically saying your happy to change something that no other CP has changed because it doesn't need changing.
Good article, a fine fellow.
Just don't listen to Moo! That greek got us wiped. lolwut?
Though Brian has a good question, your artilce is lovely, but what's with the unity theme? Everyone gets along better than ever. The only infighting I've seen has been based mainly on people saying we are divided. Paradox?
I`m not sure about that we`re more united than ever Seanan, BB. A normal citizen of Ireland, can`t have a single word against the government. If the president decides something, means that it has to be done. How many discussions we started in the last months in the Private or Public Dáil? Not too much, that`s for sure. A very good example, about how divided we are is the last "Issue Money" proposal.
And yes Marcus, if the people supports me, I will change it because the presidents in eIreland have too much power.
People just arent bothered with external forums really.
We need a CP, not a social worker.
I think that is a bit of an overexaggeration, Cousteau. Irish Citizens have as much of a say than any other Irish citizen providing they use the forums - if they don't use the forum, then apart from media interpretation, its near impossible to understand a different viewpoint.
Some proposals have been proposed when not following Dail protocol or Dail protocol is grey in an area and there has been disagreement in how that should be changed. Constructive disagreement is not a divided country. However, the topic is unity - many of those proposals still went through. The Dail had a majority in favour in most cases. >Majority.
On the topic on activity in the Private and Public Dail, its been more busy than my term... And from an Ex-IUP CP to a potential IUP CP, don't be hating on your own side! lol
While I hope everyone seriously considers voting for you, this story of the country being in shambles is not very convincing. I'd prefer to hear how you will make the country better, not how you will supposedly save it.
This last month has probably been one of the most successful ever, In all areas including unity and that. However, it is clear that there are some people who are "playing politician" and trying to get one up on eachother all the time.
Those few people have personal issues and I've been here long enough to know that they will never change.
The "issue" with the money, is not a sign of a social divide. It's more of an example of what you claim never to happen i.e. open disagreement with the government.
Anywho all the best with the CP election, even though I barely know you.
To be honest since when has the consititution helped Ireland? no point in fixing it when it ain't gonna be forced upon the citizens of Ireland.
I don't know that much about you but you seem a decent bloke so good luck with your campaign.
Great job Cousteau, I completely agree with everything! You have our support comrade! Good Luck on the fifth my friend! (of course the current CP and his friends are gonna tear apart your campaign...that's politics...stay strong! We as citizens know what EIreland needs..and that's Cousteau)
vote !!!
It's a pretty article. But it doesn't address any ingame issues at all.
We've seen our political parties work together like never before this month. I honestly can't tell who is a member of what party! This is not Ireland's primary concern next month.
In your next could you outline your policy intentions?
Military
Alliances
MPP's
Foreign Relations
Economy
These are the real issues. How do you intend to address them?
Of course Sweet Drinker. That`s exactly my plan for the second part of the presidential manifesto. 🙂
" A normal citizen of Ireland, can`t have a single word against the government."
I have called many times, more than other CP's for people to contact me anywhere if they have idea's so that tbf is just not true.
"How many discussions we started in the last months in the Private or Public Dáil?"
12 in the public dail are ongoing this month, 3 started by me. 15 in the private dail again 3 started by me, so that answers that question.
"A very good example, about how divided we are is the last "Issue Money" proposal."
This was rejected because Orangejuicemmm proposed it for me as he was the only TD online.
How come you don't say all the proposals I have got through, look at the MPP's that went through, successful NE and PTO clearing I did. We haven't seen any divided problems and these lies are pathetic political nonsense from an inexperienced person.
"This was rejected because Orangejuicemmm proposed it for me as he was the only TD online."
Biggest non-sense I ever heard from you Marcus. They rejected the proposal because you "just asked" someone to propose it without starting a discussion, or at least asking some Dail members.
So nothing about the other points I raised?
Now this is a nice candidate:
-Understands what rules are there for,
-Knows the imporance of The Dail, of the people,
-Is understanding,
-Has a RL and actually uses it instead of dropping all your savings on game golds and claimming your awesome because you're rich,
- Has some great experience and
- is eIrish from the bone !
good luck mate o7
There's always room for increased discussion and participation in the operation of our government. But I think if there has been a lack of discussion it has been because our path has been fairly clear. I haven't noticed a huge amount of division (especially since in past months I've seen us all so upset I was worried we all might just fall apart).
Although in my opinion this term has worked like clockwork, Jacques is a candidate from the Irish UNION Party, so I'm not at all troubled that he would be talking about making the country more united.
Anyway I'm looking forward to elections once again. Good luck Jacques.
Ireland is going great at the moment.
If it aint broke don't fix it.
You had my vote last time. But, I'm sorry, I can't give you my vote this time. I think Marcus deserves another month.
Good luck in any case.
There's no need for a hasty decision, John.
I'll wait for a few more "vote for me" articles, and decide on election day. I think either candidate will make a fine choice for CP. Though I have to admit, I'm leaning toward Marcus at this point, too.
The Irish cp invests himself so much into eIreland's welfare, it costs me RL money, that is not a failing.
Sure who told Canada that for helping us he will repay over 400g for the lose of MPP's due to helping us. I did this to save the state the heavy burden, is that a bad thing cause I taught it wasn't.
Very good, Cousteau!
Your goals state that you want to control Wales and Northern Ireland... So let me make this clear: you intend to declare war on the UK?
Marcus had lead ireland in one of the best months i have been active.. were winning on all fronts, activity, unity...
not to mention that his FA had been excellent all term..
and becasue of that we havent gotten wiped.
miltary were stronger then ever with soilid organizatation.
Were also much tighter with are allies, a key to ireland surviving in this eWorld.
marcus for another term, IRELAND YOU ELECTED HIM, HE DID YOU PROUD, LET HIM FINISH WHAT HE STARTED..
vote Marcus
