Interview with Funky about the CPF

Day 1,876, 19:17 Published in Canada USA by Michael 23

We’re here with Funky, a great eCanadian and the godfather of the CPF so to speak. He’s also one of the most talented and intelligent alumni members of the CPF contributing constantly to discussions both inside and outside of the party. During his tenure as PP of the CPF he has watched the party transform itself as the tenets he developed and more helped shape our current party. In a party filled with talent it is of great pleasure that I introduce to you Funky Hum24n one of our great talents.

Without further ado, let’s get right to it.

Q: Funky, how do you get the funky into FunkyHum24n?

Funky Hum24n: Funky and Hum24n are by nature, both before after each other. They are separate, yet cannot exist without each other. Where one is conceived, the other is also, though it leads to the other rather than being one of the same.

Q: You helped the CPF build up, did you not Funky? How was it to watch the CPF grow?

Funky Hum24n: I did not build the CPF. I am not a founding member or even a large figure for most of its history. I've watched it be born again, grow, decline, grow, decline, die, be reborn, stagnate, then grow again. I simply gave it an honest shot in the arm for one last try.

To see where the CPF is now, is quite stunning. Certainly other parties have grown faster, but always new parties, never outright resurrections. The CPF has outlasted the CSD, DAL, CEP, MOO, CPP, UN, CNC and EPIC, all parties that had as solid foundations as any of the Top 5 currently do. The CPF's growth has come with the approach of building the image and structure of the party first in all aspects of the political module, save the uber-micro. That's a very pleasing thought.

Q: What did you have in mind when you set out to create today’s image of the CPF?

Funky Hum24n: The first thing I had in mind was the past. I went salvaging through the forum archives, my memory and articles from all stages. What I found was a serious emphasis on getting character from rubbing up against powerful governments, personas and parties. Our foundations could only come from evolution. Thus, our idea of being progressive and always wanting to stay updated, but with a core as what it means to be an eCanadian party to guide us.

I focused on staying active, with the belief that a party is only as inactive as its most active member. The CPF endorsed candidates, ran Congress members, held public discussions and released regular articles even though we were still a long way from reaching the Top 5. We believed in politics, even if it seemed we were resigned to being a small actor.

Q: You helped develop the tenets. Can you tell me how important they are and which are your favorite?

Funky Hum24n: Oh, I'll gladly talk about the Tenets, just not number 2. It's so clear and perfect that I've refused to give it an interpretation like I did the first one.

I also need to make clear, that if you say "tenant" I will steal your account.

Anyway, they are extensions to the basic goals of any party: creating a dynamic community, filled with individuals that have a clear opportunity in the political module. Our way of doing this are essentially our tenets. They dictate our orientation, but come from the need to tell the population how we are unique and here for those seeking to make eCanada better.

We have shown for example focus on getting MUs that are not at each other's or other parties throats and making the military in this country, a compliant force that serves the country.

We like simple, easy public access to expenditures to stimulate ideas on how our government should work.

We think, that our community doesn't need war. It needs to wars with meaning and narrative for the sake of a continued spirit of eNationality. Other than (inviting) outright invasions, or going after 100/100 resources, the only means to this is through a recognized system of allies that helps us conceive of the silly international area in a more entertaining manner.

My favorite though is the focus on recognizing that the community has always been better when working on the mechanics and social sphere in the game. We can only get real representation if we work on that which impacts everyone.

Q: What do you envision for the CPF in its further developments? What would you like to see the CPF further become and do?

Funky Hum24n: I think the CPF can continue focusing on bringing the politics to every member and increasing the likelihood we can suck as much of our membership out of two-clicker mode as possible. Bang them over the head with bread and butter issues. We have had the consistent ability to do this, and I think we can expand on this method of retention and promotion.

We are large enough to have reached that critical mass where party positions and bureaucracy can start to benefit more than they stifle. Give a player a shared responsibility on promoting the ideas of a group of ten people, and it just isn't very interesting. A 100 people on the other hand, makes it a necessity. This type of thing requires however, a clear list of separate activities to do, good oversight by the PP and making sure that it is not too daunting.

Q: What's your view of eCanadian politics and how do you think we can make the politics better?

Funky Hum24n: eCanadian politics I think has shown a consistent tren😛 where I lapse in activity, our politics lapses in friendship, love and understanding. So I'll continue hanging around I suppose. You're welcome.

Separate from this most important variable, I think the scene is satisfactory. Certainly certain areas such as Congress and IRC could use some more diversity, but that's a tough thing to do when the country has stagnated after a significant decline of about 600 total citizens since Addy was President. People just need to focus inward and contemplate at this moment on how they can improve their groups, friends and areas of communication before tackling the problems of our numbers, military might or politics.

Q: What are some further aspirations for either you or the CPF as a whole?

Funky Hum24n:There have been eReligions, powerful cults and personas, many paths to collective or individual battle glory, creations of political dynasties, massive empires of wealth and great entertainers, entertainments, history, literature and arts.

But having read the lengthy platform of a AMP party presidential hopeful, it's dawned on me that not once have I ever seen ideology take a prominent role in any moment for this new world. RL ideologies such as Communism, liberalism or fascism fall flat in the new world. I hope that with the CPF has a healthy host, we can create a political ideology that describes the nature of this new world and what the best way is.

So when I'm not thinking about that, I'll just be running for Congress from time to time and helping out the Captains of Industry, the party and new players.

The CPF I think will continue being a permanent fixture. Five years from now, I can assure you that this party will still be here. I think that if the party aspires to learn, stay true and stay active, then it's set.

Thanks Funky for the amazing answers you have given. Funky has gone above and beyond in answering my questions in helping to share his view of the CPF and to elaborate in detail about the party he has built up. eCanada is a better place thanks to Funky and his insurmountable talent that he has used in building up the CPF. Time for all of us to get down with it and get funky for Funky’s sake.
