This will be short and sweet. Derphoof published an article recently to which I replied that recent events make me want to burn my account and not look back. I don't like being around people who intentionally choose to be cruel and vindictive without regard to other people. I used an epithet, one I won't repeat here because I want this to remain.

I quit.

Congrats, the haters won. If I have to be honest, I quit many years ago but kept going in the hope that I could rekindle the magic I found long ago. That game, and the people who played it, are mostly gone. It wasn't until tonight, however, that I realized that I, too, was gone, and that I had moved on from where I was back in 2009.

This has everything to do with targeted harassment of Ariadne. One of my teenage daughters is gay. So is my brother-in-law, an aunt, and a stepsister. I take this stuff personally. Anyone who has loved ones who battles with being accepted due to their gender identity or sexual preference should take it personally.

So screw it. I don't want to be around this anymore. And yes, you can say that this game matter less to me than my self-respect and my respect for those that I care about. I choose to not surround myself with the negativity anymore.

Groot... You have taken what should be a fun moment for me (being elected CBOD) and you have ruined it with your petty selfish egotistical a**h*** ways. You destroyed a person just for the fun of it. She did nothing to you but exist. Make whatever excuse you need to make but you destroyed her for no reason but to show you can... Plain and simple. Thanks mel for your honesty .. But like I mentioned on Krapis article.

I wont apologies for defending myself against free and vicious attacks from Aramec.. He threw the first punch when he clearly new he didn't have what it take to support the riposte. I'm not forcing anyone to quit or stop playing.. they are making decision by themselves.. You beg me to let it die few days ago on Discord.. which I did by not publishing anything or replying to comments from people clueless about the situation happening. But like you can see.. People needed someone to sacrifice and I'm happy to be that person if it make people feel better 🙂

now that I think of it, that is more self control than I thought you were capable of, so I can respect that at least (I say that in earnest).

Given your character and what I've seen from you in the past, given your refusal to stop when people handed out warnings on discord, given the relentless personal attacks I've seen from you in this situation and others, and a wild lack of remorse for driving someone (doesn't matter who) to quit a game they've been playing for years, I do have my doubts when you tell me you didn't throw the first punch.

For me, I think the lack of remorse is what I'm most mad at you for. If you at least showed some sympathy for the effect you had on her, I would be much less angry. Others answers may vary, but that is my answer to "what should I get?"

I'm not driving anyone anywhere... Tools exist here in this game and on other platform like discord or telegram to block and avoid having to interact with people you don't get along with. I use those tools myself when when some people piss me off .. All these snowflakes just wants attention.. well.. they have it now..

To be honest I don't believe that negative things coming from other people should be a reason for leaving. Even though I had my own reasons in the past I stayed - but well, back in the old days there were more people who kept me here.
Today I'm not so sure given the fact that most of those people aren't around, but I still believe that from interactions with other people we should take what's good. After all when we quit we simply give in to those who are doing 'bad' things.
Internet communities can be toxic, people tend to be abusive, create fake personas, lie or insult simply because it's easy while being hidden behind monitor.

But still it's a virtual world and I think it's also a bit easier to defend yourself or to ignore those abusive things. At least here where we are not so fully exposed with personal data, since said things under normal circumstances (i.e. in real real life or in 'real' social networks) could/would cause more harm.

But well - TL😉R version since I'm bit sleep deprived is that in this whole situation between Groot and Aeriadne it's better to take a look at the brighter side: the people who stood up for her, who disagreed with the treatment.
Even if they'd be a minority it's still good that they are present.

On the other hand we all play for a reason - if that reason is gone, then well it's time to move on. But honestly I don't think that this straw is worth being the last one.
