Canadian Minimum Wage

I've decided to take initiative from DMV's recent article of the forums to start a basic article here ingame about the Canadian minimum wage.

Currently our minimum wage is $5.69. I'm not sure if we have ever had a really good discussion on this topic because most people simply don't care with the economic module lacking. Anyway here is what I propose:

1. We move the minimum wage to $1.

2. We move the minimum wage to $5.

3. We move the minimum wage to $20-50.

Option 1: I suggest $1 as a means of giving any Canadians who are still interested in a commune a chance to do so. This gives players the freedom to still choose what they want to do with their companies without wages getting in the way.

Option 2: I suggest $5 for the same purpose as option 1, only the $5 minimum will serve to artificially raise the average wage rate in Canada, which we derive our work tax income from. The higher the average wage rate, the higher income we receive from the work tax. There is a fear that a $1 minimum wage could drop the average wage rate significantly, but I don't know by how much.

Option 3: I suggest $20-50 as a mean to greatly increase the average wage rate in Canada. This option will effectively kill any communes, but will have no effect on those Canadians look for a job with a steady wage rate and company owners trying to hire workers. The top world wage rate is around 80cc. This option is typically very unpopular because many players still attempt communes in Canada, but it could raise tax income by increasing the average wage rate.

Aries Take: I generally have no preference on this matter. My recommendation would depend on how many Canadians actually use communes here. If no one runs a commune, then I would recommend we go for option 3, since it should have no effect on people looking for a job and company owners advertising their jobs at a stable wage rate. If there are commune owners here in Canada, then I would suggest option 1 or 2.

I know this is a tired argument that most players care little about, but it is in the spirit of more transparency of what we talk about in Canadian Congress. Hopefully the congressmen next term follow suit with this style on matters like this.
