This article is simply to raise awareness of Austrias contributions to European culture, enjoy!

With Austria’s powerful imperial past, Austria has influenced central Europe and beyond in a variety of ways.

The most prominent of these is Austria’s musical contributions.
Vienna has long been a centre for Music, as many composers from all around the globe came there during the reign of the Habsburgs, as they were self declared Patrons of all the arts. This has meant that a wealth of said composers became famous, like Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Anton Bruckner, Johann Strauss Senior, Johann Strauss Junior, and Gustav Mahler. The most famous, however, is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; He is often considered to be the greatest classical composer ever, and is recognised by the associated board of Music as the most prominent romantic classical composer of all time.
As well as classical, Austria has produced many Jazz artists. These include keyboardist Josef Zawinul who helped pioneer electronic influences in jazz as well as being a notable composer in his own right.

In Architecture; Austria was the back bone of the Baroque style. Buildings all over Austria comply with this style, which makes cities like Innsbruck and Vienna popular with architecturally enthusiastic tourists from across the world.

Austria has also provided some influence in Literature, especially poetry. While no Austrian Poets have reached international fame, nationally a large culture has sprung up around them. In fact, Austria has the largest number of budding poets in the world and is expected to continue like this forever.
The Austrian Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek is famous for writing contemporary Plays, and Peter Handke is an internationally renowned novelist.

One does not usually think of Austria as a great nation cuisine wise, but there are a fair few very popular dishes that originate in Austria…

The last three of these researched Nuclear power and were renowned Quantum Physicists. The rate of great scientific minds Austria produces has decreased recently, but Anton Zeilinger (a Present day quantum Physicist) is noted as the first scientist to demonstrate ‘Quantum teleportation’.

Philosophy is and interesting subject for many, and especially the Austrians it seems.
