BRIEF SUMMARY OF SEPTEMBER AND MY PRESIDENTSHIP

First off, I would like to thank all the players who worked in the cabinet and the congress throughout my period. Even though the level of activity weren't sky-high, I feel we managed to pull it off quite alright. Thank you all!

I had goals to try our Military Units to cooperate closer. We made a message wall for all our units, and our MOD and commanders could share orders, mostly from EDEN. It worked as intended, but I haven't been able to measure how efficient it really was. I would like to hear from the other commanders if they found it useful and something we should keep doing.

I also wanted a good Congress Election in my period. Congress elections is very important, especially for us being prune to PTO attempts. We made a message thread for all party presidents and urged them to create safelists, which they did, eventually. In overall, the election went very well, and we got a full Congress with a lot of great players. I am very satisfied with the result.

We wanted to continue the work with seeking a suitable cooperation with Finland and Sweden, and bATRA arranged a meeting with several nations. He published a summary of the meeting from our official military newspaper. Be sure to subscribe. Even though it didn't go exactly as we wanted, it was a good talk and I find it interesting that Russia would support Asgard, even though they would not want to join. Norway may not be ready to leave EDEN in favor of Asgard, but I still think we are fully capable of remaining supportive for our neighbors here in Scandinavia. EDEN also respects and supports our choice to continue support and work closely with Finland and Sweden.

Not so long ago, a group of Turkish players, let by one of the "famous heroes" from Turkey, came to Nord-Norge and initiated a campaign to release that region from Russia. While we worked hard to stop this, official orders from Turkey was to fight for Norway against Russia in that region. We did not condone this action, as it would hurt our renting deal with Russia. In the end, Turkish players laid down a lot of damage but failed to release the region. I have talked to the former Turkish president, and we've agreed to put this behind us, but I have a feeling the aftermath around this is not over for everyone.

Norway is a small place in this eWorld, but we still manage to keep our nation on the map, not with all regions, but still. New players enter this game wondering why we do not want to release all our regions, and every once in awhile we need remind them about how the number of regions weakens our political scene. We need more players to run for Congress before we can have the luxury or more regions.

I am glad to see that Norway managed to arrange a training war with our friends in Netherlands. We all wanted to complete the Natural Enemy missions, and with the cooperation of Netherlands, it worked out great. We did lose a lot of our MPPs, but we will re-establish them shortly. A huge thank you to van Spijck for helping us arrange this - Good job!

I would like to outline a short list of services that is currently working very well in Norway, and I hope they will remain intact for the months to come:

* Kickstart program
Initiated by Ursidae Polar and kept running by several players. It helps all new and young players in Norway and it is simply awesome! Read more about it here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/2124809/1/20

* Immigration program
Several months ago, we started to work with an immigration system like the one they have in nations like China and USA (just to name a few). All requests are discussed and voted through Congress and needs to go through an interview with the current Immigration Minister. This is extremely important in order to protect ourselves against rogue or destructive players who try to enter our nation. I find it crucial that we keep this ministry working for as long as there are players who are willing to do the work involved.

* FSK (Forsvarets Sikkerhets Kommando)
This Military Unit has existed for a very long time now, but the way it runs now is quite different from how it was run last year. We issue orders more frequently and we do handouts of weapons upon requests. We are several players who work in commune for this military branch, but I would like to point out in particular one player who deserves a lot of credit for it's existence it its current form, and that player is taulen. Without his commitment and diligence, it would be very hard to keep it running like it is today. So thank you, taulen!. This is also a feature in eNorway we should preserve for as long as possible.

This list is not complete, but I would just highlight these programs in particular. I find them to be evidence for how Norway is in good shape compared to earlier periods, and they are an inspiration for the rest of us.

Finally, I would like to apologize for not making the weekly summary while I was president. I wanted to publish more articles and keep people updated, but I failed. I find comfort in how we still managed to pull this nation through another month and most things worked out very well. I do not take that for granted - experience have taught me that.
