ANA PP election - Why vote for Suileabhain?

Day 658, 22:24 Published in South Africa Ireland by Suileabhain

In my last article, I laid out a rough outline of what I believe the ANA should stand for and what policies and proposals I would like to see advanced by the ANA. I know that the party president cannot make proposals or vote on proposals - that is the job of congress and the country president. The only power the party president has is in selecting which candidates will represent the party in elections. Because of this ability, I think it is important for the party to know how I feel on the issues effecting the nation.

The other tasks of party president are to promote and grow the party and provide organization for elections. In order to grow the ANA, we need to provide a reason for the citizens of eSA to join our party. I believe the best way to do this is by clearly stating what the ANA stands for and what kind of proposals you can expect an ANA Congressman / Country President to propose. This way we can attract like minded citizens to our party. I'm not suggesting that every candidate who runs for public office under the ANA banner must be lock step in agreement with the party’s platform - each member is an individual with variation in beliefs. However if we are going to be a true political party we need a party platform.

The ideas I laid out in my last article are what I believe the ANA should stand for or already stands for. The details and specific numbers for each proposal are much less important than the overall philosophy. Take tax policy for example. I want the ANA as a party to stand for and promote low to nonexistent Income taxes, high import taxes to protect our fledgling industries, and general government funding through VAT. In other words economic policy that will make eSA attractive to workers and companies alike.

I know that there must be citizens in our nation that have similar views, but have not joined the ANA. For the ANA to grow and increase its seats in congress next election, these citizens need to learn what the ANA stands for and be encouraged to join the ranks of the ANA.

If elected party president, I will dedicate my time in eRepublik to promoting the party platform to the citizens of eSA and finding candidates from our ranks that can advance our parties vision of the future of eSA. This is the true job of party president and if given the opportunity to lead, one I will not take lightly.

Onward to a strong ANA, a prosperous eSA, and a better tomorrow!
