ANA Congressional Candidate Interviews

Day 671, 21:10 Published in South Africa Ireland by Suileabhain

Congressional elections are fast approaching. Before you cast your vote for congress, you should try to learn a bit about the candidates. While the ANA hasn’t decided on our final list of candidates for congress yet, there are several of our members who have put their name forward as candidates. The staff here at “The Loyal Opposition” has decided to conduct a short interview with the potential candidates. I’ve asked each of them the following questions:

1 – Please tell us a little about yourself.
2 – What made you decide to run for congress?
3 – What would be your first proposal as a member of congress?
4 – What do you hope to accomplish in the next congress if elected?

So far Party President Philip has approved the following candidates: George Silver, Chief Taza, and Nick Jones. In addition to these candidates, our very own Party President, Philip Francis Exavier Esquire, will also be running. The party is not saying you must vote for these candidates - everyone is free to make their own choice on who to vote for in the election. These candidates have been in contact with Philip and we believe that they have acted responsible and conducted an honorable campaign. Please give them your consideration. There will likely be additional candidates approved as the election date approaches - especially if the Free State is liberated as expected.

These candidates’ answers to the questions, as well as a link to their newspapers are provided below:

George Silver (The Fourth Horseman):
- Please tell us a little about yourself:
My name is George Silver and I am a citizen of the US. I was born and raised in NY and I am currently in college, majoring in history. I want to join the Army when I'm done, and I like to play videogames. One of my favorite Historical figures is Publious Cornelious Scipio, or Scipio Africanus.

- What made you decide to run for congress?
I decided to run for congress to be more politically active in the eSA. I was very inactive in the eUSA and I want to change that.

- What would be your first proposal as a member of congress?
My very first proposal as a member of congress would be to lower the import tax of food to 30%. I know foreign influence is a major issue in any economy, but for now we need people spending less on food so they can buy other things.

- What do you hope to accomplish in the next congress if elected?
As a congressman I hope to help better our foreign relations/international power, strengthen our diamond companies, and make our nation more powerful. I will have military, economic, foreign, and other advisors to help me make the best desicions possible.

eSA has had strong leadership from good people like Ines and Steven Bosch, and I want to one day be as good a leader as they are. The only way I can begin this journey is to jump into the world of politics and try my best. I doubt that I am the best candidate for congress, but I will try my best to help eSA.

Chief Taza (Hail to the Chief):
- Please tell us a little about yourself:
Well I just started recently and after lurking around for a while I feel that I need to get involved in things. And what better way than congress.

- What made you decide to run for congress?
I felt there are some changes that need to be made and I am here to look at them and vote yes.

- What would be your first proposal as a member of congress?
My first proposal would be to help change the taxes into a workable way for everyone.

- What do you hope to accomplish in the next congress if elected?
If I got elected I would hope that I would be able to change a lot of things and help with government transparency.

Nick Jones (Cape Town Times):
- Please tell us a little about yourself:
Well this is my second congress running. Hopefully I will be successful this time

- What made you decide to run for congress?
I wanted to run because I don't like sitting around and doing nothing

- What would be your first proposal as a member of congress?
First if the Free State Purchase has not been set in stone I would submit the proposal to include ourselves in the much larger wars in the eworld

- What do you hope to accomplish in the next congress if elected?
To contribute to the growth of our fledgling country

Philip Francis Exavier Esquire (The Phil-Anthropist):
In addition to the party members interviewed above, party president Philip is also running for congress. Philip is an honorable man and active in eSA (current ambassador to the Philippines). We at "The Loyal Opposition" know Philip will make an great congressman.
