A RED DAY

Day 3,956, 16:21 Published in Iran Iran by AfshinTa

About 1300 years ago the people of the city named Kufa in Iraq sent letters to Imam Hossein and invited him and give allegiance to him. Some historian mentioned the number of the letters about 12000. These Letters made the Imam move towards Kufa; but by changing the governor of Kufa and suppressing the people there, they did opposite to what they had written and invoked their alliance.
In consequence in the land near the kufa Imam Hossein was surrounded and mercilessly martyred.

Today is the tenth day of Muharram in the lunar calendar, known as Ashura, marks the martyrdom of Imam Hossein and 72 of his companions (Imam Hossein was the third Imam of Shia Muslims, who was a grandson of the last Prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon Him)). In Sunni Islam, Ashura also marks the day that Moses and the Israelites were saved from Pharaoh by God creating a path in the Sea, and commemorates the day Noah leaving the Ark.
The evening of Ashura is a painting by Mahmoud Farshchian. The central motif is sadness and sorrow of Hossein’s family while crying around his horse coming back without its rider.

After almost 13 centuries men and women dressed in black are mourning this day.

Hope all alliance pacts be unfailing.
