Editor’s Note: The President, Cabinet, White House Staff and Press Corps– the entire White House family– wish to offer our Congratulations to DMJ for choosing RL>game, and wish him well in eRetirement. It’s been an honor to serve with you, DMJohnston.
o7, Sir.

New President

Sunday: Election Day
Monday: Business as Usual, everyone is on the job.

Well, everyone clocked in this morning, but by now most everyone is out on the street or gathered around TV sets to watch the parade.
Okay, real quick, before I lose my spot on the sofa..

It’s all been very surreal to me, from the first day I came back to this miserable game and got the grand tour of all the cool places, to now being elected eUS President. Do. Not. Pinch. Me. I like this dream.

We have great War Leaders who are managing the wars.
I get to continue to work on Noob Retention and Media issues.
We have an Infrastructure problem, America.. We’re all gonna have to work on that together.
Thank you, eMerica, for the opportunity to serve.

Now can I watch the parade? Hey– get out of my spot..! Where’s my beer?

Tribute to DMJ

DMJ was a major player in the eWorld, held many hats and supplied a whole lot of meat. His commitment and work in the eUSA will never be forgotten, and his friends here will miss him sorely.

He wrote a little something something on his way out, you can check it out here:
[DMJ] I’m Out

We spoke with some people around the eUSA and they had many good things to say about him, here are just a few:

Patanok
DMJ has been the rock for me, personally, over the past few years. He kept USWP afloat at troubled times, and has been a rock solid, consistent performer for the eUS government for many years. His fairness and moderation will be missed.

Herr Vootsman
I'd like to thank DMJ for his years of hard work in the eUSA community. We wouldn't be where we are today if it weren't for him. He didn't just hand out GIMP money. He was both trusted with, but also responsible for our Treasury. He also helped build our community, ran our Discord– the thankless work of managing access and permissions.
Behind the scenes he was also the man in charge of calculating and collecting taxes from all our rented regions. I chose him as an advisor in all of my administrations and he was also present in every administration I've been in. He didn't always agree with everything I wanted, but he did what advisors should do and always gave useful advice. He kept our Congressional Code and Laws.
He was also invaluable in planning for resource wars (TWICE!). When you enjoy our 100/100 bonuses, you should give some credit to DMJ's work.

Also, he was our national grill master.

Shefutzu
"I want to thank you DMJ for all the huge work and efforts you've made for all of us. I want to thank you for the patience you had with me and for all the things you teach me how to do."

Thee Dude
"Master of meats." [Is] my favorite quote of DMJs. "You are all fu****g morons. "

Bob Boudahili
I’ve known DMJ since the fall of 2009 when he and I were both noobs. We ended up in the Training Corps and both became XO’s of TC platoons at the same time, if I remember correctly. However, he was promoted faster than I was. In those early days in countless IRC group chats, I figured out that DMJ was a man who could be trusted. As I came and went through various periods of eLife and eDeath, when I returned, DMJ was one of the people I sought out to see how things had changed in my absence. I knew he would shoot straight and get me pointed in the right direction. I always appreciated his counsel and knew that he was a leader worth following. His retirement is a blow to the eUS community. In addition to being an out front leader he did many thankless tasks behind the scenes over the years. However, the thing I will miss most is his intolerance of the lazy and the willfully ignorant and his sardonic wit.

Paul Proteus
Someone once said to speak softly and carry a big stick. Idk if that applies to DMJ, but he's done thankless shit for years. After infinite terms of speaker, CBO, and more, the country will miss him. How dare he leave

YUI
I hate the guy. He dumped me with GIMP. You know how much work that is? Ridiculous. Good riddance.

In all seriousness, DMJ has been a constant pillar in the community, both in and out of game. When I moved across the USA and was temporarily broke, he met me IRL and gave me a 25lb bag of rice. That rice never got used, but still, what a guy.

So long, and thanks for all the rice

Also Cardinal, from Colombia sent this:
"DMJohnston is an important partner and player for the people of Colombia. His damage, prompt responses, and communication have been integral for the relationship of Colombia with US. We hope to continue this relationship in the future, but will miss our friend dearly"

With this sad news, we can't let this game die just yet. There are still many great memories to be had, and a LOT of amazing people here to create friendships that will last forever. So let's get out there and have an amazing farewell party to the great DMJ!

Kickstart the media. Every keystroke counts.
