[USA] Hello Hello ^_~

Day 1,002, 17:40 Published in USA Pakistan by Max McFarland 2

Dear Journal,

Perhaps we start with some theme music?
~ I was looking for something with the general theme of waking up in a daze. Then I found this. ^_!

As for the Vacation in London...
So, back toward the end of v1, I dropped by #chio to ask dear President McSkittles where he would like me to tank for the day. Head off to London, he says, and fight Green in this RW started by Serbia in a region held by the UK. Clearly, some masterful plot of tactical brilliance was at hand, but I didn't ask for details. Away I went, to tank for the UK at the request of the eUSA. I stuck around to tank again the next day... then didn't come back for a few months. I guess this led some folks to think I changed nations... but, never fear, I was simply disinterested in eRep for a bit. Sorry. o_o

As for McFarland Training...
It seems to have become the official 'skill zero' job hub for the eUSA. Quite nice. I dropped in to purchase a 175 gold pack, and bought them a Grain company in Kansas, on the recommendation of our dear Sec Interior, Herr Vootsman. More useful than Oil, at the moment.

As for McFarland Constructions...
Another old personal project that's become an official eUSA government operation. I sent them 12k USD to cover 30 days of expenses, sent them some gold, and dropped in to purchase a Stone company. I'd always somewhat figured they could maybe use Land/Harvester volunteers... well now they can expand if it strikes their fancy. Colin is still running the show, building up some large stockpiles, waiting for further word on what to do with the stock.

As for the USD Monetary Market...
I seem to have gotten a bit overzealous purchasing USD for McFarland Constructions... so I kinda hopped the market from 0.018 to 0.02. I checked in with the executive folks after, I guess they had liked the 0.018 peg where it was. Afterward, I suppose they opted to keep 0.02... the CBO matched that new peg spot. Hopefully I didn't cause them any significant problems here. x_x

So, getting immediate Cabinet access is kinda spiffy, yeah?
Many thanks to dear President Krems, for letting me right back into the Cabinet after my absence. It's nice to be able to jump right back into the middle of things to look around and get your bearings. He offered to let me be National Security Advisor again, then I reminded him how that last time I held that title, my job was to stir up no small amount of chaos internationally. Nonetheless, that's my current position. ^_~

So, as for the Politics...
Thanks also to the folks from USWP and SEES, for their similar gestures. Much appreciated. I promise to behave (in the short run at least) and notfoment any undue chaos. I'm quite glad to see that my "good idea" with the APF has been demolished... the eUSA is far better off having both the USWP and SEES. I'll be keeping my current Serbian citizenship to avoid any urge to stray back into eUSA politics. Also, Serbians are p cool people. ^_~

So, it seems most everyone has some groovy profile pics?
Specifically, some nice zoom on the old ones. Looks odd. If you download paint.net (or use some program/site you prefer) then you can change the dimension on your profile pic. The pic box is 158 by 158, so on paint.net, just set the larger dimension on your pic for 158. It might look contorted in your personal small pic in the upper left, but it looks right on your profile page. I fixed my orgs, but I like the closeup effect on my citizen, so I left that one alone. All kudos for this solution go to Astra Kat G. I saw hers looked right and asked her how she did it.

So for folks who pay for expanded storage...
If you happen to not pay for the renewal, the extra stuff in boxes 21-50 is not lost, just inaccessible until you pay for the renewal. Just a footnote I notice & thought I'd share for the curious. Also, you can just run through your items, and the 21-50 ones will filter into view gradually. This note from Habraka Abrivianius. @_@

So, I read this article...
On the one hand, I truly don't want to wade into any big turf war, but I'd feel guilty if I didn't say some things in defense of some good folks I like. Having been inside the Cabinet in quite a few eUSA Presidencies, my impression has always been that the decisive factor in JCS/CP relations is the attitude and action of the CP. If you listen to CP personal accounts, the same group of folks in JCS have been awesome and easy to work with one month, then difficult as can be the next month. I figure the truth lies in the middle... like any group in power, they like their respect and authority... but the burden is on the CP to make things right and work with them. So long as the current structure stands, they are solid across terms. To complain about it is futile. Far better to take the path of Josh Frost, Woxan, etc, and work with the JCS to have a perfectly functional and fluid relationship. I suspect it's no coincidence that such Presidencies are marked by a nice roster of military achievements. The JCS folks I have worked with have always seemed like great guys to me... the only downside I see is that they sometimes suffer in public opinion since they don't spin their agenda in the media. Just my $0.02.

So I hear v2 combat is kinda different?
I haven't tried it yet. I'll be trying it later tonight with the good folks from the SEES militia. I hear silly people like me who spend too much on this game have some kind of advantage. We'll see. 😁

Cheers. ^_~
