[THC] A threat to democracy in the eUK?
Ullok
Now this is not a Political Take Over attempt, it is much more dangerous than that. It is the British public themselves.
Enthusiasm for and engagement with the democratic process is vital to sustaining a healthy representative democracy, and is a clear indicator of just how involved the eUK general public actually is.
This is not just a recent problem; pervasive apathy seems to have always existed. Since British records made sense, the eUK has struggled to make it up to a third of its populace actually showing up at the voting booths, and with summer approaching, another lull in turnout is sure to occur.
Now some of these upcoming figures may seem like there is nothing to worry about, but with London holding 55.24% of our nation’s voters and the East of England holding just 3.93% the numbers take on a whole new spin. Just 44 people in the East of England and 284 of 1419 from London actually bothered to vote.
These figures do not of course take into account if they are able to vote, the upcoming repercussions of finally abandoning “Fortress London” and are based on today’s population figures, but with only 51 new citizens today, this serves as a stark indicator of the concern. Namely if they aren’t voting what else are they not doing?
This means that tactical voting can be easily employed by those who know how to play the system, as seen this month. The oldest party still running in the eUK, the United Kingdom Reform Party’s 10 point, and Every Single One’s (who had to hunt out for enough members to get back into the top 5) 4 point jump, proportionally skewed representation in the House of Commons at the expense of the TUP, -7 points, when at least 8% of voters came from parties other than the top 5.
If something is not done to interest the general public of the eUK, the country will probably stagnate at best, and find itself deteriorating into nothingness, left wide-open to a PTO which it couldn’t oppose or being wiped off the map at worse.

nice article, the only thing I don't get is the voter allegiance pie chart...is there any chance you could explain what exactly it shows for me...thanks
So basically there are even less people in the eUk than those who are reported. Because they are not voting witch is just two-three clicks. So they are just here to do what? if they don't do the simplest of tasks.

Well tables are dry, people can see the impact of the above figures easier in the charts.
All things being fair, within a small margin the "HoC representaion" should look pretty close to the "voter allegiance". The 8% doesn't cover the change in figures, so we can see that either there are a lot of space fillers in the TUP, the UKRP is very good at dispensing the votes where they are needed, or both. The sizes of their parties don't match the representation they have. If their member numbers were switched then their HoC proportions would.
So either the Top 5 parties or the power in the HoC isn't a true representation of the eUK. Which both should be.
Maybe my rose-tintred glasses need a clean, but a larger, engaged voting public would make both these figures right. People would join a party and vote for candidate with goals they believe in, and it would be harder to anticipate where to tactically aim votes... not impossible.
