Presidency Blockade

Today is the 9th day of the Swiss Freedom Party (SFP) Presidency of the Swiss Confederation. It is also the 9th day the SFP President is inactive. The reason for his inactivity are urgent problems in his real life which doesn’t allow him to play Erepublik at all.

Five days ago an impeachment law was proposed by the President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). The reasons are: the inactivity of the President, no person set who would replace him, no Government/Cabinet which would run the country. The impeachment proposal was voted down by a 5 YES and 4 NO votes. Members of the Federal Assembly who voted against the impeachment stated that the reason they voted so was the past experience of „inactivity“ of SDP Presidents who weren’t impeached. I have to note that all SDP Presidents who had a reason to stay logged out of the game had a Government set who would represent them in domestic and international affairs, which is totally a different situation we are in right now. I must also mark that such law blockade actions by a group of people are just showing how unprofessional political decisions end up harming our country in almost all areas.

Since we have no information if the SFP President is going to come back and since we can’t allow a political crisis like this to continue causing damage in international and innercoutry activities, a new impeachment law is going to be proposed soon. All members of the legislature will be informed about why it is important to have a country administration. If the law ends up being rejected, the SDP will initiate the Political Transition Plan.

The Plan will allow a transition government to be formed until a new legislature is elected on 26th of February. If the impeachment law doesn’t pass even under a new legislature, the Plan will remain in force until the new Presidential Elections on 6th of March. If by any chance the SFP President comes back and resumes his term, a joint compromise is going to be made by negotiations.
