[Reflections] On Change
Bohemond4
This is, first and foremost, a game. Games have rules, things we must follow, inbuilt systems that make it impossible to do certain actions. In addition, we have a group of admins who control our economy, war, what the very buttons we click on do. All of this makes this game a game and not Real Life.
A desire for change in a system that allows a few, narrow, options to actually be taken needs to be examined. Sure, there are multiple paths that can be taken, but these are few and are not mutually exclusive, most of the time. Experience teaches us which paths are the best routes to take. Veterans of a game have seen what works and what does not. They know what has been tried and failed simply because they have done it. Sometimes for newer players this thought never really crosses their minds simply because we assume we know best. Much like the younger generations really.
Wisdom is a virtue earned by age and experience and is something that can be tapped by the youth of a game, to learn from Veterans teaches you more than painful, humiliating experiences. And when there are only a handful of paths to choose in a game that restricts, why not listen to those who have walked these paths and know which option(s) is/are the best and, most importantly, what actually works.
The Unity Party is a party of age. As one of the oldest parties in the eUK they seek to train young talent and temper it with the wisdom of experience to better serve our proud nation. For proof of this in action, one needs look no further than our current congress with two first time members who had been guaranteed a slot in Congress. They are gaining valuable experience and learning from their peers.
Want to gain experience and wisdom? Want to learn what works and what doesn’t?

Getting involved is as easy as it is, just do it.
UK Government is open for all that want to work for our nation. Best place for that is the national forums.

\o Strength in Unity.
Thanks for the input Ergo but no.
5 first time congressmen : )
rank 29
I don't want the Foreign Policy of Kravenn, the finance policy of Talon, the army policy of TUP,...
The way they handle forums.
I'm more real life experienced than most of you, not the most expericence, I admit, so, what are you talking about?
And most important of all: I DON'T ACCEPT any SUPREMACY of ANYBODY, anymore. I accepted
when I joined the game, and some teenagers bullied at me and others in the forums, and in the comments. I don't accept anybody being special over the rest. And that's my most valuable experience up to the moment: No Lords, no masters.
Best to see what masters are in your party Alphabetis. Seems the chairman is not chosen but is a Polish citizen. When you want a better rank for UK you could do something for the nation. Join the UK government for example. When you want to live in a higher ranked nation you can always go to Germany.
You have the experience. Just do it. (;
'why not listen to those who have walked these paths and know which option(s) is/are the best'
Sometimes they are acting in self interest only...
eUK is young, and as such, our players want to experience things first hand. It's all new to them. Simply being told this wont work, we should do that only, wont fulfill our players. It wont aid retention (the most important aspect of our community), people will feel they have no say and leave.
Who says they can't make it work, this time?
Most of the things people say won't work have not just failed once before, but many times over the last 3/4 years. If you do not learn from the past, you are doomed to repeat it.
danie fox, do you mean Keers is returning to Poland ?
But our young nation has no past... Only the oldfags such as yourself have any first hand knowledge of these failures. Most of our players are below level 29, simply asking them to trust and not question will not suffice. Show them working examples of these failures, explain to them the reasons why it will not walk. Maybe then they will start to believe and not have urge to try there own way.

I actually agree this. This is something I would like to see done more than already has been done. Though, it needs to be done in a way that isn't just attacking of the older generation.
In addition to my last comment, it is something that I have seen happening within TUP as I ask questions and get more involved.
