[JK] Once More Unto the Breach!?

Song Feature😛 You Know My Name - Chris Cornell

This is a test sentence, lets see if this still works …

Yep, seems the pen still works. Fresh paper, I forgot how the smell is so nice …

*Cracks knuckles*

It’s been a long … LONG time since I last wrote an article. It seems I start every article like this now, that's actually quite saddening - The fact that I rarely find anything to write about in this game anymore. I mean, I could write about how annoying Congress is and the countless headaches it gives me, but my articles bore you enough that I wouldn’t want to make them worse :3

So, lets get straight to the meat of the article, why I’m even bothering to dust this paper off in the first place, and the title says it all -

Once more, I throw my hat into the ring and run for Party President once again!

I can hear the groans already 😁

But seriously, I’ve been knuckling my head down for the past few months, looking at ways I can improve the party and how best to offer up what advantages I bring to the table. With the exception of a select few who I always keep up to date with what I’m thinking and my plans, I’ve kept it quiet because I don’t/didn’t want to build up hype … That puts a lot of pressure on a PP to perform, and it’s horrible.

So, in the interest of that, I want to be completely honest in this article. I’d like to think that’s one of my slightly positive traits - I will be truthful to you if you ask me a question, even if it’s one I would like to avoid (As my “Ask me anything” Thread on the forums has proven), I will answer. Let’s be honest, the last time I ran for Party President, AMP had just been PTO’d by Free Area on behalf of the Serbians.

The running to take the party back was exhilarating, it reinvigorated me, and with help from the DHS, I won … then resigned 4 days later. I won’t go into too much detail, since you can read this article which was written when I announced my resignation and why I was doing it. If you don’t want to click it, a summary would be that I was dealing with some problems, and that I didn’t want to lead a crappy term when the party needed leadership the most.

Didn’t quite pan out that way. I’ll still stand by the choice I made, and I still maintain that the reasoning behind it was just, problem was, instead of providing the stability the party needed, my resignation exacerbated (Please don’t read that wrong … We all know most people here have a .. certain type of mind) the situation, and I credit Israel Stevens for sorting it out.

So, why trust someone who’s last term ended abruptly and didn’t help solve the issues, with another chance at the position he failed?

Because times have changed for one

The issues that plagued me back then don’t exist to me anymore. There will not be a repeat, no return to a dark place in my mind. If I win, I will be dedicating every moment outside of my RL job to this position and party. I will not shirk my responsibilities, I will not walk away if the chips are down.

Opinions will vary as to whether for the past few months I’ve been active, but I can assure you, while I’ve not been in the limelight (I usually try to avoid that), I work behind the scenes with everyone in leadership. There has rarely been a day in past PDB’s where I have not offered up an opinion or advice or a tidbit of historical information. I have always been involved in this party, and that will not be changing anytime soon.

I bring experience. Don’t misconstrue my intentions and words, I’m all for allowing New Blood the chance, always have been … Admittedly only if I feel they have proven themselves capable (Unlike some people in the past … *ahem* Lauren). But there are very few people in the party who can put their hand in the air and say that they have been in the party's leadership, constantly active and working, for over 2 years. Apart from a couple of months during my “mini retirement” when my activity was minimal, I have always been there.

I have done the job before … 3 Times, Well, 4 if you count the train wreck of a term that I mentioned earlier. I know how it feels to sit in that chair, and make the choices that shape the party and the direction it goes in. In addition to that, there’s the 6 times I’ve been someone’s Chief of Staff, so running the party is never an issue.

I bring idea’s. Again, in honesty, I haven’t always been warm to new ideas. Change is scary and sometimes I’m hesitant, but once the change takes place and it’s looking good, I will support it. Call it jumping on the bandwagon if you will, I call it cautiously watching before supporting. But with these new idea’s I have, they’re not just thrown out there and the word is final, I have been talking to people, getting their take on the ideas and offering up useful and constructive advice and suggestions to fine tune them.

End of this article

That’s it for my announcement article. For now I just wanted to get you all up to speed on what I can do and why I’m good for the job, the next article will actually reveal some of the plans and goals I have planned.

If you want to get to know me a bit better, there are a couple of ways -

* - Message me ingame! Provided the questions aren’t too personal or trolling, I will respond to them and we can have a conversation.

* - Message me on IRC! Sure, I’m not always there (a lot of people know I love my food … Mmmm, food), but if I’m there, we can do the above, in real time 😮

* - Leave me a question in my “Ask me anything” Thread right … here. I have it set to subscription mode, so I’ll always know when I get a post.

In the meantime, thanks for reading the article, and if you’re an AMP member, thanks for considering me for PP. Have fun o/

The man of Integri … who am I kidding, I’m just a joker really
