Imperial March Glory To The Empire

In this article the author is announcing important IP milestone, reflects back upon our past and shares his view on the current situation.

Hello eCanada.

Approximately 1360 days ago, eCanadian political scene became richer - The Imperial Party of Canada was born. As a Founder and a first elected PP of newly formed party, I've set up a goal - to reach top 5 rank, which we did after some time. We were a top 5 Party for quite long, but we were never #1 Party in our history. Today, a major milestone has been reached - we're #1 Party! We did it.

I know, under present circumstances with the game gradually dying, and our small community shrinking, it's not a big deal. In fact, today it doesn't mean anything. But it's still a thing we're proud of.

There were good and bad times, PTOs and ATOs, I remember our IRC meetings, all the laughs and stupid fights, and our struggle to move forward. When I reflect back upon all those events, it reminds me how much fun we had and how much the game sucks today, unfortunately.

At one point the IP had 86 members, and the 'crazy' thing was - we were ranked as third or fourth Party in eCanada. Can you imagine that from today's point of view? Yeah it sounds crazy, but it wasn't such a big deal back then.
We had our manifest, our beliefs, even separate forums, our own web site. Rivalry between top 5 Parties was fierce. All the tension, drama, hostilities and alliances, political discussions, exchange of views on various political matters, an active national forum where we discussed stuff...Those were the times. Once upon a time we stood for something, we used to care about things. Look at us now. Our forum's dead as a doorknob now. Honestly that's just...sad. This game was good once, what the hell happened?!

I don't blame the players, it's obvious whose fault it is. The administrators of this game were too focused on squeezing out every penny out of our pockets instead of listening to their player base. And what do we have now? Broken economy, political system is ruined, real journalism is almost dead, military module blows, and people dropping like flies. Yet we ask why.

When I think about it, and compare the past with the future, I often ask myself: What can we do to change things, to bring back the fun we used to have even a tiny bit, and is it even possible today? In all honesty I'm leaning towards no... I guess what's left of us is stuck here to click aimlessly until they pull the plug.

Prove me wrong if you can and write some ideas in the comments below. Or don't.

Nonetheless one thing is for sure.

The Imperial Party is going to serve eCanada and defend its interests until the very end.

Hail eCanada!
Hail Imperial Party!
