[Inwegen4POTUS] Additional Domestic and Communication Policies

Day 1,140, 15:40 Published in USA USA by Inwegen
America,

Today, I write to you to address a few domestic subjects: the economy and national security.

I believe the issues below are important and are true to my core: We must do all that we can to leave the country in the best possible position for those that come next. This campaign has never been about me. We must work together into the future and do what is best for the country.

Let’s cut to the chase:
----
The Economy

There is an extremely careful balance between the luxury of personal wealth and the need for slightly elevated taxes when considering how best to keep the nation safe. There are extremist arguments on both sides, and both are working better on coming to some sort of agreement. Some that were steadfast and concrete in their beliefs have left us. The continuing economic debate is one that has claimed more great players than any other game module. Some argue for low taxes, but how do we fund our military then? Some argue for high and a more communal system, but what happens to those not active enough to find the food bank?

Neither side works. This is a game that operates on heavy interaction, but many “two-clickers” never make the effort to become more active. Thus, we have to find a happy medium. I believe where we are at currently in our tax plan could be lowered a small amount. But, we need to make sure any changes are closely monitored and are almost certain to have a positive affect. Tax changes can be very detrimental to our economic stability and we must be sure any changes we make are in the best interests of the nation as a whole.

Executive and Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) Communications

I served under Harrison Richardson last May in one of the most turbulent months for JCS/Exec relations. Like many in the political sphere, I am on good relations with some of them but not as many as I would like to be. If elected, I want to make sure the lines of communication are completely open and healthy. I have a plan to make this happen. A National Security Council.

Please take a look at the proposal here and let me know what you think. It’s not perfect yet, but I believe with hard work from the next POTUS and JCS, this could revolutionize the communication between the Executive Branch and our military leaders, the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

I can’t go into great detail yet, but I’ve talked with CJCS Jankems about it and while there is some potential room for improvement from the current proposal, he believes it could work to help the inconsistency in JCS/Exec relations. I look forward to moving ahead with this plan.

----

The odds appear to be against me in this election. That doesn’t mean I will relent. The odds appeared to be against America in World War III. We came back. Maybe I will succeed or maybe I won’t, but I won’t go out without a fight. Quitting is not something I know how to do. Twelve Administrations and a year of Executive work over the course of my three years in the game can attest to this. Many greats have left us. Some of my best friends in the game are no longer with us, but I will do my best to live up to their names if elected.

Thanks for the memories, America. I hope to make many more with you.
