[Interview] SG of Pacifica

Day 3,215, 20:25 Published in Norway Denmark by Joshua Morriseau

1. Greetings Nalaja, can you tell everyone a little bit about yourself?
I've played this game for more than 7 years, never tried any other e-citizenship than Hungarian. Half of my 'lifetime' spent in foreign policy, I was at the creation of ONE, then at TWO, and now, first time an SG, in the Pacifica.

2. Pacifica member Latvia has recently voted to restore democracy as the true form of government. What impacts if any will this have on your alliance?
Latvia is an important member in our alliance. Seems to be a 'small' country, however organized and committed. I expect an ease in the Latvian-Lithuanian tension, which is sometimes a neuralgic point in our foreign network.

3. Another of your alliances members, Sweden, has recently invaded Norway without prior warning and being invited. Is it normal for Pacifica members to invade allies without prior warning and why has Pacifica leadership not gotten involved?
It seems to be usual in the game, not just some alliances. Staying at Pacifica, Hungary did similar gains for bonuses in Spain and Australia.

4. Many have called Pacifica the successor alliance to Asteria. Do you think this statement holds any truth to it?
We maintain good relations to Asteria, that's right. However our ties are strong to core members of the Syndicate, too. Pacifica cores keep ties to Greece and Argentina in one hand, and with Serbia and/or Romania on the ther one.

5. Your alliance seemed to have gained the most from Asteria's rough year, however with the rise of other smaller and medium sized alliances it seems your growth spurt has ended. What can Pacifica do to continue to grow stronger and faster than the other alliances?
It seemed indeed for a week in April, when Brazil and Argentina joined our alliance. However, their aimed orientation was different. You asked for moves to grow stronger. In fact, we are quite numerous at this time, which give us the exercise to make friendships inside the alliance and we are on good way to this.

6. What is the biggest current issue that your alliance faces?
Organization something that reminds a military cooperation 🙂

7. I think most wouldn't argue in saying that Asteria and Pacifica are the two strongest alliances currently around. What is the next step that Pacifica must take in order to secure itself as the dominant alliance?
Oh, don't forget the 'other side', the Adriatica and the Syndicate. Combining their strength, they still are in the big theater, with similar force than ours. Our strength is that they won't cooperate with the Asteria, so we can play the 'middle' position, which gives good stability.

8. With the rise of smaller alliances such as Orion, PLUTO, Adriatica, Nebula and Syndicate do you believe that the time of mega alliances is now over?
Quite. Cause of the fall of mega-alliances are of two kinds. First, the dominated boringly the world, and after some months, they seek enemies, e.g. turning against each other. The other is, as alliances grew to 'mega' it meant a lot of small countries with some really big ones. A very common source of debates, I've seen a lot of this. This experience is important to keep our Pacifica without such parleys/debates.

9. If you could personally choose to include any one new member into your alliance who would you choose and why?
Greece. Their net of relations is very valuable and their diplomacy is skilled. Good players and good company.

10. Last and final question, if eRepublik were to add any new nation to the game who would you want it to be and why?

I can't name just one. However a chain through Africa, say Libya, Chad and Niger to the still implemented Nigeria would be an interesting new edge of the graph, as well as the Middle Asian states in another region.
