[Extravagant Egg] Phil and all the Recent Drama.

Hello friends, fans and fellow news-lovers! Today we’re doing something different: The Extravagant Egg! This is going to be a segment that zooms in on a person or an event that’s happening now, and as such, will be infrequent.

Today, we have a truly extravagant (and depending on who you ask, cracked) egg! The controversial e😜resident of the SFP: Phil Harmony! While I personally have no beef with Phil Harmony, he is quite the figure in some… hot water.

On the less extreme end, he seems to be a jokester and kind of the extremist. His condemning of the “Pig-Elitist” always made me chuckle, and his (seemingly) lack of reason even got someone to say to me “it’s usually best to not do what Phil says”.

On the more extreme end, he’s recently been in hot water from my friend, D-Money or Goddess, releasing an article on him and railing on him in the official SFP Discord due to his continued “sexual harassment” of female members of the SFP.

So, I decided I’d do what I do second best (right up there with procrastination). Give an interview along with some info on the situation.

Post-Publish Note: I do not support many of the things Phil said here. My intent was not to provide a platform for hatred, but to cover this topic. If it came off like this was a platform for hatred, I'm sorry. My gratitude goes to rainy sunday for bringing this to my attention.

So Phil, Goddess, tell us a bit about yourselves in and outside of eRep!
Phil: I'm a controversial person inside eRepublik. To some people I'm awesome, because I am direct, not afraid of harsh criticism where it is due. I play all modules. I like to hit hard and win BH medals on the battlefront. I am a pack buyer and pack seller, and I like to share my wealth, helping young players with giveaways. I love to do media (some say my media is brilliant, for example, this one.)
I use media mainly for politics; since day ONE I'm member of the SOCIALIST FREEDOM PARTY. I was inspired by many great Socialists, some are my friends, like Phoenix Quinn, Osmany Ramon, Jude Connors, Wooky Jack... I'm two.time PP of SFP and one of the initiators, who fought for independence of parties from US forums. This is why the ruling elite doesn't like me. They attack me wherever and whenever they can. But I always shoot back! Someday, I might become Potus, would be the 3rd non-elitist CP in eUS history, after Glove and Civil Anarchy.
Outside the game, I'm a relative young male from Germany, living in Berlin. I work for a big global company, like to hang out with friends (they are from all over the world, really), love good movies, party occasionally weekends, travel. In-game and in RL I value FREEDOM the most; freedom of expression, freedom of speech; FREEDOM as independence, the right to choose for yourself, letting others to do the same. And I believe in DEMOCRACY.
Goddess: I am a trans-women, web developer, computer science and math student, RL troll, student secular and libertarian activist.
In eRepublik I have been known for my controversial articles in the media module. QNN was born out of this lazy journalism you would see on liberal online media outlets. Just make everything gay because why not. You know lets use anonymous sources that paint this totally fake portrayal of a situation. If anyone ever defends the use of anonymous sources as something credible please look into North Korea journalism. A lot of things you think about North Korea are a literal fabrication by the media that was propagated by various unethical and careless practices. Just make shit up, establish some sort of evil buggy man, insert yourself into the story, promote vague intellectualism and social justice, and have no regard for consequence. This is basically the original manifesto for the rebirth of my character back in 2016. Most of my good shit was in 2016. That was when I was probably insane. But take a look through my old articles there are some real gems in there. I had an article about Pfieffer losing where I say, "it is rumored that Pfieffer's mother does not love him.


So Phil, please enlighten me as to your ideals, and also to what the hell a “Disgusting Pig Elitist” is.
Phil: My political ideals are the ideals of our party, the SFP. We have an awesome party constitution, you can read it here.
I've recently, once again, outlined my political ideology in an article, there you can read about in more detail.
“Disgusting Pig Elitist” is a term I've created to label those players that were ruling for a long time through the eUS Forum, sorry, "disgusting eUS-Pig-Forum". 🙂 I will explain the background with some historical e-republik facts, younger players might not know.
There exists a meta-religion (not the only one, but the most widespread) called Dioism. It revolves around the former player Dio Brando. He was a leader in ePakistan and created some kind of "mythology" At that time ePakistan was waging war against eSpain and eSweden. The "racial slur" ‘Double Faced Pig Disgusting Spaniard’ was Brando's term, he used and Dioists have kept using it.
Almost every elitist in the eUSA is a Dioist. So I've just borrowed "their" terminology and I'm using it against them. They are double-faced, they lie (read this recent article), they cheat (they sole our tax-funds many times and are probably still doing it) and they are pigs (just an animal that is filthy). It's just having fun, taunting your political opponents with a terminology their "god" Dio Brando has created. 🙂

Goddess, I was wondering why you brought this up now. This has been going down for a while, so was it just after Phil went after you, or was it a “better now than never” kind of thing.
Goddess: The whole problem with me and Phil got started when I came back from a couple month hiatus. I saw how Phil was using language. I read it and it was interesting. You know down with the elitist scum, cool stuff. But after observing him do it with the frequency he used it, practically every sentence, I realised this was just a bad meme. I got annoyed that he was going around and acting like he has some great ideological well thought out message in his antagonisms. So I was like this is an easy target and I should shame him to actually get some class. So I did. Mainly this was like hey Phil the whole joke is old and you need to carry yourself better. I thought maybe Phil could be reasoned with.
As Phil's world has slowly came crashing down around him in recent months, he has only gotten more explicit towards me and his behaviors on discord. In my encounters with him it usually is stop being pathetic phil are you a child? Now listen I don't want to disparage Phil. I think he probably has some sort of behavioral problem and should seek some sort of counseling or maybe he is 14 years old. Regardless it started to get out of hand in recent days where he would try to get the attention of the so called "pig elite" and harass them using the SFP discord. He would just blurt out random sexually abusive things at women and mention them. During conversations with women he would use sexually explicit language. While he attacked men, he specifically thought it was okay to demean women. Now if Ilene Dover came on and started saying all the elitists men have small penis and that they can't please or keep a women, we would be concerned and would think that she is being a sexist sexual harasser. So I mean the shoe can be on either foot, but in this case Phil a man was doing this to us. So I thought that it was important to expose him. I have really been itching to write an article that was just a screenshot dump of the things Phil has been saying for a little bit now. But the SFP community has been trying to give Phil a second chance and I respecting many of these people have been going along with it. What really tipped the scale for me was reading the pm he sent me. He used credible threatening language. He was like, I know who to look I will find you and btw do you like it up the ass. At this point I was like is Phil really crazy to personally try to visit me. Maybe and I am not secret about my life so I mean probably could find me. This was just enough.

Phil, I was wondering what the reasoning behind you saying these things was. Was it a joke, was it serious, or were they empty threats… or is there another reason?
Phil: There is really no reasoning, it's just meta play on Discord. I can be rough sometimes, when I chose to be.
I am often attacked and discredited by the ruling oligarchy. There was even an attempt to find out about my real life, they were investigating my IP-address and that is sick!
Some of them PM me on Discord, write filthy sexual-explicit stuff. Sometimes I do it as well, but when I do it, I do it in public channels. They don't like that, because their strategy is "back-door back-stabbing". This is their gameplay: intrigues, lies, dishonor. Maybe I was sexually offensive when talking to rainy sunday, Melissa Rose, pig-potus WDIB2, Yui, Dylan and others from the filthy pig-meta oligarchy. Rainy doesn't mind (I'm sure), considering we had great cybersex in the past. The others do mind, but that's their problem, if the don't understand the "concept" of meta-play when someone insults you. And that's strange, because the same "concept" they have used for years on the pig-meta Forum, insulting and harassing folks there.

Phil’s behavior has recently gotten him jailed several times from the SFP discord, one of the best methods of communication for eRep. This affected Phil to the point where he made his own discord. I was wondering if you two feel like the punishments were good enough, and if you had anything to say about Phil’s discord.

But I've lost the password in the making, and can’t retrieve it, because the email-address to verify can't be retrieved. The settings can't be changed and the option "view history" is disabled for all, me including. This is a great feature (no owner who can interfere) and it is a great privacy feature as well; none can share the discussions held there. It come in handy and I hope people will use it. I don't mind about what happened, I don't mind being kicked and jailed. People take this game way too seriously.
Goddess: Phil in the end got the punishment he deserved. He is going to lose credibility in the SFP at large, he is no longer welcome on our discord, he has exhausted all of his friends. I almost feel bad that his behavior has led to this. Only if phil could see the light.

Now Phil, you recently ran for Party President, and he got second place in the SFP Party election and did quite well in the Congress elections. You did remarkably well. I was wondering how this made you both feel.
Phil: I was party president 2 time before, so it was not a big deal. I was also approached by some "nasty" players, offering me votes in my PP run. I have declined. SFP with Maximillian and all others involved is doing great, I feel good about it!
Goddess: Phil only did so good because people still had faith that he wasn't that bad. He might of had a few character flaws but in the end Phil was dedicated. What has been exposed is that Phil is just absurdly poorly behaved. Many in the party were unaware of these actions until recently so I hope that in the next elections this new information is reflected in the results.

Phil, would you like to apologize to Goddess for the things you said to ‘em?
Phil: Certainly not. It is Dylan "Ya Boi Ya Girl Money" Goddess who needs to apologize to the whole SFP. I will tell you why. he created the "official" SFP Discord and privatized it. He has double standards (jailing people for some words, other for the same insults not), he make arbitrary rules (like the voting on Discord who shall have admin-powers) and if denying the Party President authority over the channels. I have tried to address this and party members of the current leadership tare telling me that they agree with me, but"nothing can be done, because Dylan is the owner, the boss". This is unacceptable. An official SFP Discord should be administered always by the current PP (or by someone he chooses) and the RC (Revolutionary Committee) should be on board. This is how it was in the old days we were interacting on IRC.
Dylan is a "little gay-veggie fascist", always lecturing people, always knowing best. I detest such kind of people: measuring by double standards, letting "friends" insult opponents, spreading their false propaganda all over the place.
He even leaked some party of our mutual PM communication (which was taken down by admins, after I've submitted a ticket.) because it was against eRepublik game rules. He is fine breaking them, but when someone breaks his "arbitrary rules" on Discord, he gets pissed. Double standards I say again.
I hope we will find a way to administer a truly FREE Discord for our party, with clear and transparent rules, not selectively applied. I know we can do it!

Goddess, what would Phil have to do in order for you to forgive him?
Goddess: Phil would at least have to demonstrate on some level that he knows what he was done is wrong and demonstrate competence and willingness to change his behavior. I am not vindictive just show me that you can be better and act on it.
In Summary
(I think everything is worth reading here honestly.)

Phil clearly does not like the people who use the meta to hold power, who backstab and who siphon tax funds away from the country into their own pockets. He is a staunch supporter of the SFP. He says what he did was joking and he wishes people didn’t take eRepublik so seriously. He also is not the biggest fan of Goddess/D-Money, who he believes uses double standards when it comes to rules and policing the discord.

Goddess is also a faithful member of the SFP, while having differing ideals in some areas. She believes that Phil’s behavior towards everyone, women in particular, is pretty bad. She says it’s not an attempt to target him, but that she just does not approve of his behavior on discord. She thinks Phil will lose credibility and thinks he deserved his punishments, and she would be willing to forgive Phil if he changed.
The Chris Commentary

When I first thought of this article, I promised myself to make this section unbiased and uncontroversial as possible. I wanted to leave the opinion forming to all you. So, I wrote what both them could do to improve the situation/clear the air.

I think Phil should make it more obvious he is joking about these things. I’m not sure if everyone fully gets that he’s joking, and some people don’t like jokes about this stuff. He can take it a bit far, and quite a few people would probably want these jokes to stop. However, if he finds people that are genuinely okay with these jokes being targeted at them and they know it’s just a joke, I see no problem. If he can’t do that, these jokes should definitely stop.

Goddess at this point should probably just block and avoid Phil if she has a big problem with him. On top of that, Discord makes it so you can still choose to see certain messages if it’s in something like a Congress Delegation or a PP’s cabinet and important. However, as Phil sees these all as jokes and may not see the harm he’s doing, I do not personally think Phil will be stopping any time soon.
