Weekstrom on travel ticket challenge

Day 2,184, 06:28 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Weekstrom

A quick analyses of this week’s weekly challenge shows that the reward this week will actually give you the opportunity to make a profit. There are movement tickets to be gained and although I myself have never used them as it is a reintroduction of something from before I started this game I think I’m able to point you to a profitable way of approaching this week’s challenge.

What’s a movement ticket?
A movement ticket allows you to move to another region without paying movement costs. There are 5 qualities and any level lets you move 1 zone. So a Q3 movement ticket allows you to move up to 3 zones and saves you 60cc. If I’m not mistaken a Q1 ticket cannot be used as partial payment for a 2 zones move, but a Q2 ticket can be used for a 1 zone move. In the latter case you’ll lose a potential 20cc though so it is more wise to put the tickets on the market at a high price so you won’t waste high quality tickets on small movements.

Value of a ticket
Using the above way they work you could say every Q of the ticket is worth 20cc. I won’t use that however as imo it’s not realistic to expect all those Q5 tickets will be used for 5 zone moves. So I use 20cc per Q up to Q3 but Q4 and Q5 I value at 70cc.

So how do you gain money?
In this case I’d say you gain money if the amount of money you need to spend to gain a ticket is less than the value of the tickets received. So if you need to spend 10cc to gain 1 Q1 ticket that later on will save you 20cc you’ll gain 10cc.

What does it cost to gain tickets?
There are several step at certain levels of prestige. Prestige is gained by consuming health on the battlefield (Not while working or training!). Every 10 health consumed on the battlefield due to firing or performing a GF gains you 1 prestige. So to gain 100 prestige you need 1.000 health. To get those 1.000 health you need to eat. I used a value of 0.045cc per health point, or in other words a price of 0.09 for a piece of Q1 food.
If you would fight bare handed those are all the costs you would need to make. To do so you just need to put you’re weapons on the market at a price no one is willing to pay. And hope you don’t have bazooka’s ready (never convert the parts in actual zooka’s unless you’re sure you need them!)
Put into a table the profit you make looks like this;

So what do you see in this table? First off all the number of prestige needed to gain tickets. Then I listed the Q(uality) of the ticket and the amount’s you’ll get. The value a piece (pc) the value of the prestige step you make followed by the value off tickets in total until that prestige level. So at prestige 300 that’s the value of the tickets at prestige 200 added to those of prestige 300.
Next to that I listed the investment you have to do based on health needed followed by the cost of the food you’ll need. Also per prestige step and total.
Finally I listed the profit you would make by subtracting the costs from the value of the tickets. Again per step and as a total. You’ll notice that every step is profitable here! However that’s not entirely true as the maximum amount of health replenishment you can have during the challenge is 33.600 so max 3.360 prestige if you don’t train and work. To gain more you need to use energy bars and that’s something that for sure ain’t worth it. So realistically you would be able to reach 2.500 prestige.

When not fighting bare handed you will not be able to make a profit when using Q7 weapons. A table roughly alike the one above is shown here;

Added to the table are the amount of tanks needed plus the costs of those. I calculated with 9.75cc a piece. You’ll see the total profit is never there although a few steps actually mean a profit. If you would also need extra storage and are willing to see the gain of those as a profit you could add the value of the 1,000 storage you gain at 250 prestige (D3-4 that is) to the profit (1.750cc). If you would want to go for the 9,000 storage (35 gold, roughly 7.000cc) that you gain at 5.000 prestige you would need to use around 200 EB’s. I find it very hard to believe that's ever worth it.

So what should you do?
If you normally train and work to become stronger and fight hardly the rewards are likely to be not wise to pursue as you would gain an extra 2.500 xp to reach 2.500 prestige.
If you normally do you’re DO and are thrilled by the possibility to gain a few bucks you could try to do you’re DO bare handed. You’ll gain more XP, rank less and do way less influence but you'll safe some buck on future movement.
If you always fight all out you’ll simply have some nice extra rewards that safe you some future expenses!

Use it to your best advantage!
