Truth is Surprising…

Today while writing this article I seem to keep remembering the words of the great bard…
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones;
So let it be with Caesar.




I have not come to rejoice the loss of BiH not even to taunt our win in their face. In fact, since the epic win yesterday by India and its allies I have been most confused. When I spoke to some of our fellow countrymen, I found the same feelings.
We are not happy to have wiped B&H. We are not happy to have driven them off our lands. We are not rejoicing something that is not so Indian. We love peace. We love to live together. Hell! Our arch enemies Pakistan even fought for us in this battle.
Then people who are not Indians and don’t share the same sentiments, would ask us, why the rejoicing? Why the euphoria? Why the song and dance?
For the lack of a better word to express the emotions I would call it a “surprise”. We are surprised and amazed and stupefied.
• We are surprised that we can win a RW and a MPP battle together.
• We are surprised that we could do it with only 5 or 6 allies.
• We are surprised that this was done without much planning.
• We are surprised that a person we forever termed as a troll became the CP and delivered it.
• We are surprised that in spite of the various vile threats and taunts we managed to do it.
• We are surprised that the ‘B’ of ABC is gone.
• We are surprised that we could inflict action that could wipe someone.
• We are surprised that we did things that weren’t on the moral high road that we always claimed we followed.
• ….
• ……
• ……..
So; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.


But how did we do it? Why did we do it?
In the heady mix of success and excitement, not many of us got a chance to think about it. We did it because we tried. We tried when we reached the brink of our patience. We reached the brink of our patience because we were push too hard for too long….

BiH is a poor victim of our anger. Trust me guys, we are not mad at you. If we give you reasons for fighting against you, they are possibly lame. I/WE feel for you, because we know how it feels to have regions and being wiped. We are sorry for the way things happened. Unfortunately, it happened. Now we have 3 regions and you don’t. Over the period of forced guesthood in India by ABC, BiH was the most decent and friendly. There wasn’t really a reason to complain. The only reason I could think of was their refusal to allow us one region when we didn’t have the congress after the TW. Was it really their fault? No, Not at all. It was someone else’s. Again, misdirected anger.

So if we look at it and search our souls, it is our growing anger against the continuous treachery and arrogance of Croatia and then of Albania. When Croatia came in, they were friends. We welcomed them. They came to Asia because they were without a congress for so long. They came to Malaysia on an AS. They annexed Thailand. During those days, we were trying to get to Malaysia to help them and our Indonesian brothers against their enemies. Croatia was facing regular resistance from Malaysia and Thailand. We were also in bad shape, trying to save our lands from the Thais. It was mutual. Croatia needed a safe haven; India was friends and agreed to provide it. They in turn would drive away the Thais. The regions agreed upon were the once India doesn’t need and a nice rent. Sounds like a deal happening amongst friends. One of the major points of this deal was to provide us protection from other invader. This was all done in a very friendly manner. And with each step assured that if India doesn’t want them, they will move out. In fact, the MoFA also told us, if we denied them a safe stay, they will look for some South American country to AS.

After a couple of months, things started going wrong. This was a period when Croatia was facing a lot of trouble internally (so I heard). They made a deal with Thailand without telling us about it. Mind you, this was a deal about our regions. Then it was about returning Karnataka as promised and all we would get is about this rogue MU who just wouldn’t listen to the Govt. What would you expect from a friend/ally?

We talked, and we kept on talking. We asked for help from EDEN (we were pro-EDEN). We were ignored. Croatia was a big power, big damage. No one heard our case. Some tried to help, but they were ineffective. Avoiding the various insults racist/religious or otherwise, Indians burst out, they were literally disgusted the way an old friend was treating us and we quit EDEN.

That was the best excuse they, the high and mighty Croatian wanted. They thought “WE”, believe me guys that’s what they said, betrayed EDEN. We betrayed EDEN, when even after deciding and declaring our differing paths from EDEN, and our neutrality, we stood by our commitment and fought the best we could against our brothers in Indonesia. We did that, because we were committed to support Croatia then. If we hadn’t done that, maybe ABC wouldn’t have happened.

So we were wiped, because, we were a threat, we betrayed EDEN and Croatia. WOW!! Subsequent Croatia Governments have said the earlier Govt was bad and they intend to right the wrong. I remember the time when Obersoldat was the CP of Croatia and the CPs before and after him, committing to 2 things repeatedly:
1. We do not need all your regions, and at least 6 regions will be returned.
2. We are planning to go back to the Balkans and leave India forever. 

This has been months ago. Every subsequent CP confirmed the same and never ever lived up the promise. With time, things changed further, but India has always tried to talk to them. Work things out. In the mean time, India moved on to be Pro-CoT. We tried our best to get a membership. Failed!! Croatia was also working; they arranged to get Albania over. Albania worked out a deal with us. We were terribly divided. Most of us didn’t want it. But did we have a choice? The choice presented was, allow us to come over, or we are coming over!!! Our CP made that deal.

Friends would ask us, why do we keep on trying to talk and make deals with Croats and their cronies? We I would say, a fair assessment would be, we didn’t have much choice and that’s the emotionality/sentimentality of a normal Indian. We could not go back EDEN to ask for support to get rid of Croatia. We were not members of CoT yet and CoT was busy, and Croatia was going pro-CoT. Serbia was out of bounds for every Indian. So the best way was to manage to get a couple of regions through diplomacy. Every time we were promised, every time, the “phantom rogue MU” didn’t allow it.

In the mean time we had Pakistan AS us. We fought and got rid of them. This time Albania, joined the Croatia bandwagon. They felt threatened by BG/MKD ASing us and wiping them. Incidentally, they fight on the same side these days! Albania takes over the regions available. Well Croatia is still protecting us, mind you!
Then comes in BiH, again a deal. They needed congress, they didn’t threaten us. Croatia invited them over. We agreed, so that they could have a congress. Again, on a deal where in Croatia will seriously give us back some of the regions. As usual, our side of bargain lived up to, Croatia lives up to history and reneges.
Then the TW and we don’t have congress again.

BiH, put yourself in our shoes. Would you have not done something like what we did? We lashed out at the country that was quiet and peaceful. We are possibly not proud of what we did! But we were desperate. Trust me BiH, our respect for you is not hurt at all. It’s all there, maybe even more. We bit you but our anger is for Croats. The Croats taught us that for months. We are possibly brainwashed by now. 

The logic was, Serbia is stronger and is beating us up, so we will have to beat you up. However, if India doesn’t agree to be beaten up, India is bad. India quit EDEN, they betrayed us. Croatia Quit EDEN, that was the right thing to do. India is Pro-CoT, that’s really bad. Croatia is pro-CoT, that’s the right thing to do.

We just turned out to be good students of Croatia.

Most Indians are still not coming to terms with our new found friendship with Serbia. A lot of people feel, we are being used by Serbia. Maybe we are. Hasn’t Croatia been using us too? Hasn’t Albania been using us too? Oh wait, Croatia is an honorable country and so is Albania….So are they all!

If Serbia is using us, we are using them too, aren’t we? Trust me! It’s still difficult to accept Serbia as a friend. Very very difficult. But hey! After possibly months we had a “friend” who helped us. Whatever be their motive, their motive served our purpose. They stood by us along with the other so called demons and their friends gave us the impossible. Something no one else did. How is that evil? Evil maybe perspective, and from our perspective it’s not Evil! But then Croatia calls them evil and Croatia is an honorable country and so is Albania….So are they all!

We had 5 allies, all of them the so-called demons and BiH had all the Gods, 12 of them. They lost!!! Does it not make our friends better?

Arrlo, my friend, you are possibly the most honourable CP Croatia has got in ages. You paid you own money so that we could get a region. Hamturk made a deal with you possibly. That was the normal India talking to you, still trying to work things out. But the other Croatia-trained India, found it all too little too late! Arrlo, our respect for you is immense. But you happened only after the dam has cracked, and then it was too late to stop it from breaking. The future course is very very important. I guess, there is still time to chalk that up.
Well, Croatia, you managed to disrepute the friends you had, managed to get them quit EDEN, managed to make them quit CoT. BiH and the rest of world need to blame CROATIA for the events in India. We are just forced to swim the currents of the time.

Bulgaria, we will always be our comrade-in-arms. Where ever we are whatever we are. God bless!
