Time for a Modern History Lesson...

Ok after seeing a screenshot of a conversation that roboz had with Detroit34 I noticed a little gem of information.



Now apparently we are too ignorant to know the crimes of the Nazis(not going to bother here) or Communists

We are too ignorant to know about:
-Various ethnic groups who were killed during the Russian civil war in 1919
-War crimes against Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Yugoslavia which included rape, murder and Deportation to various places during the Second World War
-Hungary in 1956
-Invasion of Afghanistan

Thats Russia covered, now let’s very briefly cover some others:
-North Korea is in progress technically
-PRC and its civil war with ROC (plus many other protests)
-Vietnam and its war
-Cambodia and Pol Pot
-anyone in any country occupied that had political views opposed to that of the invaders

I repeat WE ARE TOO IGNORANT TO KNOW THIS

Now as a RL historian I’m sure Detroit34 knows the definition of Communism but for us ignorant fools ill post it

“Communism (from Latin communis - common, universal) is a Socialist movement to create a classless, moneyless, and stateless social order structured upon common ownership of the means of production, as well as a social, political and economic ideology that aims at the establishment of this social order.”

So in other words Communism is a movement in which no one has more than anyone else, a society in which everything is even, no one gets more than someone else based on birthright or class.

So let’s look at RL examples of “Communism”. The USSR is Stalinist not Communist the leadership was not democratically elected. So every war crime done by the Soviet Union is not Communist. It’s a Stalinist War crime.

So for those not following Communism is the idea that all are given equal rights. If a country doesn’t have democracy then the leaders have more power than the people, and the country is therefore not Communist.

Peoples Republic of China? Maoist. Democracy? NO. Again Not Communist.

I could list every “communist” country. Find me one that had democracy and committed mass murders. My point? You can’t. None of these countries had democracy and so undermined the very word communist.

The Word that Detroit was searching for when he said Communist was infact DICTATORSHIP. Now as we know Dictatorships are not exclusive to any economic or political association AND its impossible to have a Dictatorship in eRepublik, the game forces Democracy remember?

Now let’s assume that Detroit34 simply got a bit carried away about his dislike of Communism. I mean he may have gotten carried away but he has a point right? Those lefties are the only ones that do mass murders?

WRONG

There are numerous examples of Capitalist Countries (even democratic ones) committing mass killings and even Genocide.

-USA – American Indians
-UK- Aboriginals (including Genocide in Tasmania), systematic killing of many cultures all over the world
-Iraq under Staddam Hussein (which was funded by the USA)
-Rwanda

Oh and don’t forget the possible 10s of millions that have died because of economic sanctions passed by capitalist countries.




So after all this lets recap

-There has never been a truly communist country in the world, only dictatorial offshoots
-We are too ignorant to know the crimes of these proclaimed “communist countries”
-“Communist” countries are just as bad with mass killings as Capitalists
-It’s impossible to associate the Australian Communist Party (erep) with RL because democracy is an integral part of eRepublik and most if not all RL “Communist” nations were Dictatorships.


So either Detroit34 is close to losing his job as a Historian or he was using RL to slander people in a game using the term Communist.
