Yeah, I think that some congressmen takes our rich fundings way too seriously. They don't seem to realize that without ATLANTIS we're nothing, that we have to defend OURSELVES through our allies, and most of all; this is a game and it's supposed to be played. An attack on ATLANTIS is an attack on Sweden, I really don't see why they don't get that.

I voted for The Swedish Army of course. I don't know why some congressmen have started voting against everything nowadays. If I was in charge we should spend more money on the defence, not less.

Of course I voted for giving the Swedish Military founds.

One thing I noticed is that some congressmen seem to dislike giving the soldiers money since we dicided to not give money to the congressmen. They seem to not realize that fighting requires a lot of money, and that the idividual soldiers doesn't have that kind of founds if we doesn't give it to them.
I will not give out names, but a mayority of FBS voted for founding our sodiers, none from DNS did and 50% of MSAP did.

By the way, the Yes side do have a mayority, so founding will go out to the Swedish Military.

This is really not the correct media to express your personal opinion Bertil, but I do admit that I am a bit frustrated also. We are obviously in a phase where semi-inactive people and "pacifists" are making it really hard for us (The Swedish Military) to fulfill our responsibilities within ATLANTIS.

War is not fought by individual soldiers, it's fought by nations and Sweden is moving towards not participating in future wars by slowing down the funding process. The times when several warmongering individuals made a difference is over, it's now a whole nation in war or not. This time Sweden seems to decide on "Perhaps if..." and "It depends on if..." whick will make us weak and indecisive as a nation.

Jac Vobar, this is typically a situation where some politicians in Sweden vote "no" to something just because they disagree with it personally.

They don't mind that they are violating a contract which could leave Sweden defenseless in the future without any alliances.

These people, are the real enemies of Sweden and we need to get rid of them as fast as possible or they will destroy the glory and power of eSweden.

Well, maybe they want a e-SAAB 😁, with the money spend on war they can buy some e-cars instead.

Jag tror svaret kan vara bristande förståelse för va dkrig egentligen kostar. Väldigt få av kongressmännen har varit ute och krigat.

Själv har jag krigat lite de senaste veckorna och har nog uppskattningsvis bränt en 500 SEK totalt. Och då har jag inte ens krigat mycket.

Krig kostar, både här och i verkligheten. Det måste vi acceptera om vi vill vara med och leka.

Varför är inte den här omröstningen placerad i Riksdagen?

Varför vill några i kongressen låna guld till Polen? Vi har redan gjort tillräckligt för det landet.

marten1000, bristande förståelse är ingen anledning. Dessa politiker borde vara insatta i hur atlantis-kontraktet var utformat, det är idiotiskt att rösta nej och istället (kanske) behöva handskas med ett kontraktsbrott.

Vi får väl se hur det här slutar, men jag hoppas att vi fortfarande är med i atlantis i slutet av den här rappakaljan...

Vi är enligt Atlanstisfördraget skyldiga att ge ekonomiskt och militärt stöd till attackerade länder. Det framgår dock inte hur mycket. Rent tekniskt borde det räcka med att våra soldater slåss utan betalning hemifrån för att satisfiera kontraktet, samt att vi stödjer Argentina med lite guld. Men ska vi göra ordentlig skada krävs att vi utrustar soldaterna ordentligt, och det är det vi bör göra.

Vi kommer inte bli utkastade ur Atlantis. Spanien anföl Portugal utan att säga till, och de har inte blivit utkastade än.

Does the Swedish Military think that they themselves are better at running eSweden than the swedish people through their representatives?

It seems the Swedish Military wants a military dictatorship instead of our beloved democracy. It seems the Swedish Military poses a bigger threat against the swedish way of life than any foreign army. It seems we have to put some overheated miltary chaps in jail for a while to cool them down.

Swedens Commander-in-Chief Kape has already been given Deputy Commander Mr Gurkvatten a public reprimand for using an official army paper in order to speak out of his political view.

As a Minister of Defense I want to suggest that more public voting among our elected congressmens and more public debate would strengthen the democratic system, attract more citizens and decrease the risk for a one sided hostile political take over.

I can't vote myself, I'm not a member of congress.

I must also inform Desdichado that if you put me in jail there are a lot of well respected International Wall Breakers who might try to take me out of there. Of course against my will.
Since I would be in prison it would be difficult for me to communicate with them, telling them not to tear the prison wall down.
I'm not the one to judge your influence or reputation, nor can I guarantee that they would listen to you if you tried to stop them.

ATLANTIS as an alliance respects, above anything else, the sovereignty of its members and Swedish congress is Sweden’s people representation so their decision are of course to be respected.

This said, an allied of yours is under attack. And war might end up at anyone’s doorstep. I would like to think that Sweden is as committed to it's alliance as ATLANTIS will be if you receive the visit of the enemy yourself.

A nations military has no power to vote regarding this, but as a personal advice I would say that it's opinion (as experts in this matter) should be listened to, very carefully. War is extremely expensive.

As well I would like to add you have a great army, well known and respected abroad. Something you all should be very proud of.

Is the opinion of the Swedish Military that the Swedish Military should decide the size of their own budget? Maybe the congress should be elected by the Swedish Military then! What You are doing right now is taking a giant step towards a military dictatorship.

If this continues, I think we must re-organise the Swedish Military from the ground. One mistake can be forgiven, like declaring war on a third country without permission from the congress, but this is a sign of a very bad culture within the military organisation!

All you from MSAP who bashes the Swedish Military, this is only the work of Gurkvatten. The other officers have rebuked his use of this newspaper, they have no guilt in this.

I have time and time again voted in support of whatever has been proposed by the leaders of our military because it is with their leadership our military has become what it is today. What Gurkvatten has posted here, however, is garbage. The vote is in favour of the proposal and will be passed. I honestly have no idea what all the fuzz is about.

I belive much of the fuzz is about:

- that the time to take decisions in the congress about these things are a bit long. A war is often started and over with within 48 hours. The election about military budget to Argentina was started four days ago, still no decision taken.

I inform the Members of the Swedish Defense Headquarters as well as the soldiers after the best of my possiblities. I can't say that now has Olof Larsson voted Yes, but Lars Olofsson voted No.

I do iform if we have a Budget or not, and if we have, how much it is. In this case, as in many other cases we have a task - a mission to carry out - but we don't know what resources we are allowed to use to solve the task. That is slightly problematic.

You must realize that this is unknown information to the vast majority. They cant see the Votes!

The article writer clearly shows that he don't know how the Poll stands on day 2, 3 or 4. He doesn't have access to Regeringen and the Votes and debates are hidden for him.
He don't know who of our congressmen who has Voted, and if so on what did he or she Vote?
The article writer as well as the majority of all swedish soldiers just know that they do wait for a decision to come.

I can't speak for all of them but I belive many of them feel a little bit frustrated waiting and not knowing.

the amount of members of congress avoiding the problem at hand is alarming. These are not the views of the entire swedish military organization, and I never claimed that they were. I am perfectly aware this article does not belong in "Forsvaret".
The situation we are in right now is it has taken four days to discuss whether or not we should aid an ally (which we are obliged to by contract) by funding the swedish military. For some reason Brazil and Indonesia have decided to hold on with their attack, but despite being given ample time to make their decision, only 1/4 of congress has voted.
I think we would all prefer to see this debate and vote being made public, and see just what kind of filibustering those not willing to honor the Atlantis treaty are involved with.

The fact that some of you are choosing to demand this article deleted rather than in any way responding to it tells me that you simply cannot defend this stalling.

I´ll defend it.

Well, Försvaret have around 2000 Gold in its own pockets, and have never before, created a budget. Due of our complains, you have done one now, thanks for that. And I’m sure, what if you can tell us, what you will do with the money and gold, and what you will do with that’s left it after the war, I’m sure you will get a Yes, at least from me. But still, don’t think persons will vote Yes to something, without being sure of the use of the Citizens money.

Money don’t grow on trees, and we need to use them well, give proof that you can do that.

And last, This newspaper if for orders, propaganda and defense information, not the military’s complains on the budget.

We don't have to make further comments about what should and what should not be written i Försvaret. That is dealth with and is a dead issue.

Gustavius, you have access to the Government forum. This is in no way the first budget from The Swedish Military. You must have be a perfect politician able to forget so quick.

There are several threads with budgets to The Swedish Military, the former President Flammbar (if you have still remember him) have along with previous congressmen voted Yes and No to things like this many times.

I'm pretty sure we will find a certain Gustavius voting for these things as well if we start dig in the history.

The Swedish Military doen't spend Gold or SEK without Governement apporval. We could have 15000 Gold and 300 000 SEK on our account and still don't have money to fight unless we have an approval to do just that - spend money!

Do you honestly belive that I took the decision to handla out 1000 Gold to the Swedish Soldiers in Romania myself?
