Resistance Wars

If I was to create a list of pains that really go above and beyond annoying when it comes to eRepublik, at the top of my list would be those nasty resistance wars. One question that could be asked is simple: why?

The answer is as easy as 1 - 2 - 3 - 4:

1. The resistance wars divide a region in half: the Patriots who believe that once land is conquered, it should stay that way, and the Traditionalists who believe that land should belong to the country it belonged to in the first place. The worst part about this is that these two groups are lethally placed in the same place: the battlefield.
2. Resistance wars can be started by a very small minority. What this means is that with ten radical citizens and £10,000; a resistance war can be started. This means that two nations who are on peace terms could be in a lethal war in almost an instant, wrecking months of peaceful relations between nations and their presidents. This can only lead to grudge after grudge after grudge, which is never a good way to begin your plan to take over the world.
3. The proof that my second argument is rational can be found on the Wars page: How many resistance wars do you see compared to traditional (president wages war on president) combat? The ratio is about 10:1. This is an insanely dispowering check on the president of the United Kingdom.
4. The United Kingdom really isn't involved in that many wars. We aren't a very belligerent country, and we like it that way. However, we also acknowledge the fact that not all of the territory that we have control of was ours when the New World arose. However, when we do get involved in wars, a resistance is always started a day later. If you extrapolate this pattern to other countries (which, given the ratio expressed in proof 3, isn't that irrational after all), the 10:1 ratio of resistance wars to traditional wars is easily explaine😛 the resistance wars are merely a continuation of the traditional wars that were ended when the winning nation received 83 domination points.

It's pure and simple: resistance wars are just a way of getting around a victory in a traditional war, and that is why I encourage every citizen of the United Kingdom to petition the President about this issue. Tell him to talk to other world leaders about instructing their citizens to do the same, and we may very well respect a fair and clean traditional war very soon.
