America killed 2 million people in Iraq and more than 800000 people in Afghanistan. US government can't even tell how many people were killed in 9/11 event. which is less than 1000 people. it seems western countries people are more valuable than people from east. Iraq was not involved in 9/11. There was no Al-Qaeda in Iraq until the US occupation overthrew Saddam, who has been keeping them out.

It was a very bad thing that happened. Its not about numbers dead or even who did it. Its about ordinary people losing people they love and what it does to them. It is about how people react in adversity and the sacrifices they are prepared to make for strangers when everything goes wrong. 9-11 is not unique, but everyone has their own rally point.

I remember that day well along with a few other similar events that gave me renewed hope in humanity in all the grief. People's lives changed. Some spiralled into vengeful darkness. Some remained oblivious waiting for the next event to awaken their empathy. Others discovered how good people really are when you remove mundane distractions and have joined the quest to recreate the world as it should be.

Darkness is dispelled as long as a single light shines in a heart.
Events like this remind us to shine or become just another victim.

I empathise with those who lost, and am heartened by those who gained out of tragedy.

9/11 was a dark day the world over. I watched events unfold on TV here in horror and disbelief along with most Aussies here.
