Program Spotlight: Mentor Program

Day 1,559, 19:28 Published in USA USA by USA Department of the Interior

Hello to all our fellow eRepublikans!

You may have heard the whisperings, but we are here to confirm those rumors are true. The Department of the Interior is back! This newspaper will be updated frequently highlighting the wonderful programs, and special events, we provide to the citizens of the United States. We’ll be bringing you current information, program details, and also shiny new graphics that look prettier.

This issue, we’ll be discussing the Mentor Program.

The eUS boasts an unparalleled Mentoring Program. The Mentor Program is a tool designed to help educate and answer questions for new players. They help answer questions, point to off-site gathering places for our community members and all around help relieve that lonely feeling that almost every noob gets when they enter this game. Never hurts to have more friends! Mentoring can last anywhere from a few days, to a few weeks, depending on what you require.

But really, how does the program work? We sat down with the current Director of the Mentor Program, Jon Malcom, and this is what he had to say:

The Mentor Program works when a new player requests our assistance and fills out our form located here: http://bit.ly/yZj3wg After they fill out that form it goes on my spreadsheet, which I then check. After checking for new players, I assign them a Mentor. A Mentor is a person with a very special heart that volunteers their time to help others and I believe they are the real heroes of the program.

Once the Mentor contacts a new player, then the player and Mentor can begin exchanging information. Of course the mentor helps the new player with information about IRC, Military Units, and anything else eRepublik related. Mentors can always be found in the IRC channel Mentors A new player can get in immediate contact with a Mentor through that source.

So how does a player get in contact with the Mentor Program?
