Hello everyone
I just wanted to say hello.
After a couple of years two clicking I thought I would try and get more involved before the game ends completely.
I have wanted to be more involved for a while now but I have been doing some thinking and came up with an idea that I would like to put across to you.
My Idea
When I say my idea, I mean an idea from real life economics. Based on real life economics I want us to try a new "Basic Income" for every active citizen in the eUK. Where each and everyone of us will receive a weekly wage. Direct from the government.
For this to be sustainable in the long term the government would have to make small adjustments to taxes and actively encourage citizens receiving Basic Income to buy produce from the UK market only (not imports) and invest in new companies.
The idea if successful will see us all investing in new companies quicker. We increase our economic portfolio's and the government sees an increase in tax income from more activity.
Currently a Raw Materials company (£8,500) at a selling cost of Raw (£0.0😎
will take over 300 days to see a return of investment. For some people I suspect they will be put off or just not bother at all for such a slow return on investment. But with the cash from the government perhaps we can change this attitude.
We could also introduce a "Visitor Income" where we pay a reduced rate to those who move to the eUK. That would benefit the country and hopefully attract new players to move here.
Just a thought I had and I would like any feedback please.

You're trusting the people elected not to stockpile the cash.
History shows that taxes in the eUK have always been stored by the "government" so that they can be eventually stolen.
The less tax collected the less there with be for someone to steal
OK. Perhaps if we run this and pay citizens weekly the amount available would never pose a large enough amount to be stolen.
Also we would require some sort of tracker that monitors the amount of tax income and Basic Income expenditure.
I think if everyone gets behind this the better we perform.
The better we perform the better the Basic Income can be.
It really will be a self driven initiative.
Sorry, but there will always be a reason why "government" can't or won't spend the taxes collected.
This is so ingrained in the politicians here that there is a greater probability of Plato giving everyone as much gold as they want for free than any likelihood of taxes being spent to benefit the general population.

I think it is great that we have a new player with some ideas - keep it up! It sounds like it could be a good idea but may be difficult to implement.
I think it would be very difficult to track in terms of mechanics, but I believe that we have tried other subsidies before, such as for companies and whatnot in markets that needed a domestic influence.
It doesn't work, even though it's an admirable idea.
The most effective mechanism is to send your money to me and I will invest it in a lavish Dioist lifestyle for myself. I guarantee that I will get an excellent return on your investment.

I think it's just hard to work such a system with current mechanics. I remember they used to lend money to new players to set up businesses which is probably a much easier system to operate - most old players really don't need a basic income so it'd be pretty pointless for a large proportion of active players.

Just seeing over £800,000 sat doing not a lot in our bank is frustrating when it could be used to make money.
I agree, although remember that each Protection Pact costs us 10K a month (and we carry quite a lot to keep us safe and offer battles for training). I think there are other things we could spend on, like a more structured military or paying out for battles. I also used to operate a SBA type program, which was nice, but as others have said it can be very hard to operate with some of the current mechanics. If you have specific interests in mind I'm always up for trial programs too. 🙂

Apologies if you thought of this. I've not seen anyone mention it.
Good idea, although we'd need some way of ensuring only active players got the money...and by active, I'm not looking to exclude two-clickers or casual players who aren't on every day, but it would be a waste if we sent money to a player who hasn't logged in for over a week and may never come back.
COs payable ONLY to UK citizens is a really good way of rewarding active citizens.... You fight - you get cash back....
Problem with that being our big fighters will earn more. Would be useful if you could set a limit per fighter is that possible?
The other problem with that is it either leads to citizens only getting rewarded for being active if they happen to enter the battle when the good guys are losing, or if you set a high threshold it encourages pushing the wall ridiculously high on a battle we're already winning at the expense of other battles where allies could use our help.
By setting COs in *ALL* Divisions, with the lower Divisions having a higher payload the less experienced players will get to benefit as well as the super powerful D4 troops.
Clearly COs need to be applied with a certain amount of skill and knowledge in order to make sure that we do not waste energy on forlorn hopes!
Setting CO's won't work as not everyone fights durr. Also you cannot stop a tank from over hitting and taking more cash. Your idea is actually a good one but in reality the only way it can work is for someone to donate cash to each account individually. That's very time consuming so good look with that.
Personally MY idea of giving loans or companies is still by far the most productive idea that I've seen.. along with many others that I had ofc.
