Irish Defense Forces
Irish Department of Defence
Daoine na hÉireann,
Ireland needs you to ensure our defense and security. Our Defense Forces will be involved both in defense of our soil and in peace keeping missions abroad. We need to increase numbers and thus we ask that any able bodied citizens sign up for the Irish Defense Forces or the Rangers. In light of upcoming operations in defense of Israel any extra soldiers would be much apreciated. Citizens are also encouraged to sign up as part of the military council and assist in the running of the army.
We are very happy with the number of citizens taking an active role in the defense of their nation. A roster of IDF troops can be found here: http://www.erepublik-ie.com/IDF/defence.php
To sign up for the army go to http://www.erepublik-ie.com/IDF/ (Form for rangers is below IDF form).
***Details for army job descriptions below. ***
It is also felt that we should be able to equip our soldiers in time of battle if we are to defend our country and operate effectively as an army. This however is terribly expensive especially considering that the country's coffers are rather low. Therefore I am appealing to Weapons Companies who are willing to strike some sort of deal to supply the army at a reduced price, to send me a message.
Commanding Officers
We need a number of new officers due to the huge influx of new troops in recent weeks. You will be expected to keep in regular contact with your soldiers and keep track of their training and equipment. Before any military action you would be expected to know who is travelling and once in operation you will be commanding the troops on the ground, relaying orders from the IDF Commander.
If you are interested in the position or want more information then please do not hesitate to send me a message.
The Irish Defense Forces
The IDF are the backbone of the Irish Army, as a member of the IDF all that is required is regular training and a commitment to defending our nation against invasion. If involved in conflict abroad the IDF will be called upon to fight but it will be on a voluntary basis.
Irish Army Ranger Wing
The Rangers are the Elite wing of the Irish Army. They are highly trained and highly organized with top of the range equipment in times of war. These are the men that will be serving our country on the front lines in defense of our nation or on peace keeping missions abroad.
To be a ranger you must have a strength of 5.00 or higher. You must also be able to fight abroad and thus cannot have any commitments here. Rangers cannot be party leaders or congressmen. A ranger would be expected to train daily and will be required to serve overseas in times of conflict.

Also if you wish to travel to Israel as part of the IDF operation then please send either myself or your commanding officer a message,
Go raibh míle maith agaibh,
Igor Thunderbrow
Minister of Defense

I might join the rangers but alas I have no wellness from my inactivity
I love how the departments and pages are officially called 'defence' yet the minister says 'defense'. I now know who isn't Irish. 😛
I am actually Irish... "defense" always looked right to me. Too many American books I think is the problem.
I applied for the rangers but my name, as far as I can see, isn't on the roster. I'll reapply.
Was thinking of applying as well, havn't got the strenght but have 2 other good assets!!
@ Severin: Rangers applications take a bit longer. We need to ensure that you are of high enough strength. You will be added as soon as possible.
@Nogin: I sincerely hope that you are a woman in real life. If not that is rather unnerving...
i have joined up for the army bt my strenth is only 2.2 bt i supose im only here a few days lol
I also just joined and started playing yesterday but i plan on sticking with this and i plan on helping Ireland return to glory be any means nescery.
If I change my mind can I get out of the army (IDF)?
