Congressional Updates and Official Notice of Semi-Absence

Day 530, 19:44 Published in USA USA by Cromstar

Citizens of PA,

First, I want to inform you, if you were not aware already, I was elected to serve a two-month term as Speaker of the House recently. I hope that, after my term ends as SoH, Congress will be better for it. I've already started to clean-up the mess and streamline Congressional business, and along with my Deputy (Claire Littleton) I look forward to continuing the progress we've made.

Additionally, I've appointed ClammyJim from Delaware as the Congressional Whip, and we are working to ensure that Congressmen stay on top of everything happening. So far, this Congress has been extremely active, and I hope to see it stay that way. Finally, our committees have begun to work again, so keep up the good work, folks!

Now on to my voting recor😛

MPPs: This month we renewed the MPPs with Germany and Poland, ATLANTIS allies deserving our support. Additionally, we started an MPP with South Africa in order to help them out against their fight to recover occupied territories. I approved all three.

Embargoes: We passed embargoes on Indonesia and Hungary, two of the strongest PEACE nations in concert with our allies in order to provide a more unified front in the war against PEACE. I approved both as a sign of good faith in our allies.

We had a few proposals to donate money to the CBO, and I approved as they serve to allow us a better ability to use our money wisely.

Finally, we had a proposal to issue more money (I voted no) and a tax proposal (I voted yes).

Now, you may be wondering about my Official Notice of Semi-Absence. This was exam time at my college, and tomorrow when I turn in my last paper, I will officially have completed all of my work for my bachelor's degree. Graduation is this Saturday, and I'll be moving out of my dorm on Tuesday in preparation for returning home before moving on with the rest of my life. Therefore, starting this Tuesday afternoon, I will be severely limited in my ability to log on. I will attempt to do the important things I need to do before then, and hope to delegate what responsibility I can. For the rest of my duties in Congress and as the SoH, I plan on spending just enough time on them to ensure I do not hamper business or injure Congress by my absence.

I'll see you all on the other side!
