Blacksheep. Fair Work Tax.
Arrden
At the moment, The Blacksheep Party is currently in the Discussion phase in Congress to lower the Work Tax. With our well coordinated triumph in the Resistance War's, we will be spending less of our reserves to hold overseas regions in multiple nations to ensure our full bonuses. We are truly living in fortunate times. With many important current events considered, now is as good a time as we can get to reevaluate our tax revenue, especially considering that we will not be the only nation with readily available full bonuses. That means we need to provide better incentive for American and Foreign large factory holders to remain in eUSA and pay.
As some would already foresee I was met with sharp resistance. There is of course a lot I can say about the Tax Discussion in Congress, but instead of hurting my hands writing a long article and possibly giving you biased information, it's better to just look at it for yourself, it's open to the public view:
Congressional Discussion to Lower the Work Tax
All I will say about it is this, some want high taxes to remain for currently obsolete reasons.
Big war high taxes with No big war.
Full bonuses conquest high taxes with No conquest. (Full bonuses in core regions)
Arch Enemy threat to the homeland high taxes with No arch enemies in sight.
*EDIT* 10% Work Tax Vote

First for Fair
if we were being fair we would raise minimum wage to reduce tax avoidance schemes!
we would stop all the anti american terroristic communes!
I agree, somewhat. The people that benefit, most, from the tax, are able to avoid paying it.
Communes are an essential part of some millitary units.
jkeller once again opens his mouth and inserts his foot. Good going!

Good luck on getting this one done! Full support!
It's only fair to implement the lowering of the current Taxes.
or raising the minimum wage! it is a part of the game that has not been used for some time. i think it is time someone revives it!
So you want to KILL the communes that many MUs use to defend the eUSA.
Moronic idea is moronic.

The decision was made on the Worker's Gang, Forum. If you have another idea, it will, most likely, be deleted.

I'm in favor of reaching the agreed upon amount of reserve money before we lower the tax.
The preferred argument in Congress right now re: the work tax is what SColbert mentione😛 "I'm in favor of reaching the agreed upon amount of reserve money before we lower the tax."
This number he refers to is something one person threw out there and then a couple people bandwagon-ed. So the "agreed-upon number" is entirely informal.
Uhh, before I go on, is this what déjà vu feels like? A while back, eUS Congress passed a law stating that Congress would maintain an increased work tax until the reserves were in a better stage. Once the reserves reached 10M CC, the work tax was to be lowered.
So, we reached a number and once the Feds, Black Sheep, etc. brought this law up (it was Largo, specifically) in work tax discussion last year, the law was quickly repealed with the reasoning that Congress can't hold a future Congress to decisions relating to game mechanics (like setting taxes). Ironically, some of the people who used that reasoning were actually in the Congress that passed the law in the first place.
Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us. We're idiots if we let THIS argument go by yet again.
It was actually Locke that brought it up.
Was it? Locke, Largo, I don't see either of them anymore, not my fault!
Thanks for the correction (if it is correct... ^_~), TB.
both of them were big losses to the community when they went.
I agree that the tax should be lowered. Who says the government knows how to spend that money better than the people themselves? An argument could easily be made in favor of lowering the tax because it hurts those fighters that would normally fight their hardest for USA, but instead backoff because of the burden of the tax and the knowledge that the USA gov will just shower COs to any merc. In that light, much of your money is actually going to mercs through those same CO's, and that's certainly not very fair when it could be staying in the pockets of your own troops, who will then use it to defend their country.
Hope you guys are successful!
we need to increase the minimum wage!
we do not want those commies taking control and expecting things for free! this is america people work for the things they own and people pay the far amount of taxes. people(commune) should not be scheming against the government while raising the american flag.
Even your government uses communes. You are no bvetter than the klowns who keep the work tax up high.
STOP CORPORATE GREED!
STOP GOVERNMENT GREED!

That forum discussion is like arguing with kids who have their hands in the candy jar, there is never enough cookies in the jar to satisfy their 'needs'. Then they throw up how the game/country is dying, Yeah if you run off or force retirement everyone and anyone who disagrees with you then the crap dies. The kids are so smart but dumb as HEdouble hockey sticks
Not cleaver; just willing to do whatever it takes to win. (Including Multis) I was playing for two weeks, when Pfeiffer tried to get my forum password. I wonder how many people are him.
Exactly!
I wish I were a Black Sheep so that I could take part in this public circlejerking festival. Baaaaa!

Hear hear, the thief is trying to sh*ttalk! Sorry, pal, I am not interested in engaging in conversation with your ilk.
And a toast to Fluffy's lackeys! Baaaaaaaa!
One doesn't need to like Pfeiffer to see what B***s*** Party stands for.
Kemal, I have defended you in past articles where you were being attacked. I've done the same when you were either directly or indirectly being accused of theft from eUSA funds. I had considered that you genuinely cared about the eUSA.
You blanket comments and insults towards BSP do not seem like something the person I've previously defended would make, yet you have. When I first joined this game, I joined AFA and was attacked, insulted, accused of being a multi and so on. I had no idea what was going on within the game, just that I was being textually abused.
I left AFA, remained mostly quiet and stayed out of any party unless I temporarily joined for ATO efforts.
Not that long ago, I decided to finally try to take a more active role in the game. I joined the USAF and BSP. Very recently I left USAF and joined the party MU. Everything had been going fine, until now. Now you are blanket insulting the party I am in, meaning they strike at each citizen who happens to be a member of that party.
The lesson I'm taking from my time in eRep is that unless I'm a member of the Feds, USWP, AMP or WTP, that I am dirt under the long time player's fingernails.
Jessina, I am sorry if I offended you. However, you should know who the people you associate with are.
The core of the BSP was founded by people who were working in the government military. They were entrusted with lots of companies the production of which was used to supply the members of USAF. These companies were built using government's money. They were built with the taxes we paid.
Then these people had a fight with the government, and quit. However, they didn't simply quit. They stole all the production infrastructure in terms of buildings with them. I cannot give you how many millions of USD they stole, but their value is easily in excess of real life $1,000 using the second hand exchange rate and probably in the $5,000-10,000 range using eRep's exchange rate.
So when I call them thieves, I am not making a blanket accusation. The core leadership of BSP did steal the taxes collected from the citizens of eUS. And now they have the nerve to ask for lower taxes so they can make a larger profit using the companies they stole.
If you want a more realistic version of the events, talk of our core leaders, the majority of whom were, in fact, not involved in any way with what Kemal is talking about. We had a whole discussion last year (over two years after the departure) where someone wanted to blacklist all of BSP from Congress because of it. The discussion obviously went no where, as many people had no idea of the facts, as evidenced here.
eShades, your defense against theft was that those buildings constituted (i) just payment for your past service (declared so by you, not the government, or (ii) investment made into your account which was intended to be a gift whenever you decided to leave. Am I correct? I can dig up the old threads. Whatever you do, you cannot disprove the fact that you walked away with companies built with government money.
Not to mention that your group's theft is the prime reason why we don't invest in government infrastructure anymore. The risk of theft is simply too great.
I'm sorry, Kemal Ergenekon. That was rude. I should get off eRep way before midnight, though that's a poor excuse.
I don't mind the insults, since I know you will repeat them at the first opportunity. I take it as a given.
I've turned a blind eye to numerous opportunities. The one above was the first in months -- very likely since August.
I genuinely felt bad the next day but I was in class up until a few hours ago.
Im in favor of this idea!
You're using poor definitions to support your point. There's nothing factual about why this work tax would be too high and what the effects would be of lowering it.
the effects of lowering it would be more money for the eCitizens
